Oh I soooo want to see the uncut version of this episode!!! Well done lads! "My wife's gone off pork recently...and that's not a euphemism for anything...." ha ha ha ha!! Joe how you can keep a straight face and not get sidetracked by this larrikin is beyond me! It must be absolutely exhausting to try to keep up with Goodey and his rabbit holes....hes' like a hyperactive toddler (keeps wondering off in all different directions ;).... You guys should raise money for the NHS by auctioning a remote dinner with the pair of you! I reckon you'd make a fortune! The next time I get asked "If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, alive or dead, who would it be?"....my answer is gona include the two of you at my "Ultimate" dinner party ;) Lovely bit of fun, well done :) Please do more!
Sooooo FUN!!! Nothing better than good wines, vampyres and listening to the banter between these two! The wine commentary is great, keep it going guys!! :)
Always love Joe, but Mathew is such a character, I laughed through the whole show, but still was able to learn something. Great having them together. Waiting patiently for season 3
Thank you so much for doing this... it is so good to see Joe and Goodey together again! I can't wait for Season 3 of Wine Show and Season 2 of DoW! Deb Harkness is genius for joining these two worlds. Smashing!
I was wondering who will finally bring this up!! HAHAHAHAHAHA Matthew just talks non stop which we all love it! LOL but give other people some moments to form their thoughts! HAHAHAHAHAH I guess this is what is called 'love and hate' relationship between Matthew and his friends.
I've just finished watching A discovery of witches for about the 3rd time, don't judge, its my thing 😂. Matthew cracks me up. I loved him and Matthew Reece in the early episodes of the Wine show, wonderful hilarious combination. This ep you could see Matthew was getting tiddly fast, probably because he hadn't had lunch yet! And your knowledge Joe is wonderful. Most enjoyable
On my second viewing already - I love how these fellas are solving the problems of the world whilst sloshing down some vino.....yep let's get a load of english football fans, send them over to Africa, with some lager and a net and a boiling pot of water and solve that locust problem!!! This episode could be the start of a whole new series!....Solving the problems of the world...with Matthew and Joe ;)
Gosh this is my favourite episode so far. I love the banter between these two. It's the closest I can get to the Wine Show in Australia, since it's not on SBS anymore :(
Mr.Goode's attempt to open that 1st bottle looks like he is genuinely trying to kill someone but fortunately the bottle gave up and allowed him to safely open it. Definitely not a sweet wine! LOL Anyway I enjoyed the episode very much, thank you guys for being such entertaining, passionate, dedicated and funny people.
It was George, Duke of Clarence, brother to Edward IV, who was drowned in a barrel (Butt) of Malmsey. He was allowed to choose his method of execution.
That's Mr. Goode after a lockdown, you know. How can you expect him to sit still after something like that? Anyway I hope we will force that nasty covid back to retreat sooner than later.
Several months ago I tried to Google wines from the first book, but mostly failed to find anything on the market. Like Cote-Rotie 2003. And prices... Even bottle of 2008 costs as Boing's wing🙈🙈🙈
I think there is a SAG AFTRA rule or something like trademarks they can't use labels or wines without paying a fee and some wineries don't allow it ...there was something about when they did to INterview a Vampire and something in the book didn't make it to the movie.
That’s about right, though. Exceptional poroducer, classic vintages and ratings in the mid-to-upper 90s from a wine with real ageability. But then again, this *is* Clairmont’s personal cellar...I consoled myself with the knowledge I have a couple bottles of decent Chatenuef-du-Pape laying down and that my local wine shops carry affordable Grenache-Syrah-Mouvedre blends from the region, some of them very good! (Now, if you could help me find an affordable Ch. Margaux I’d be grateful!) Oh to have DeClairmont wine money!!
Who hasn't been enjoying wines during the lockdown?! Well duh :D I really enjoyed this wine tasting with Matthew and Touriga Nacional 2015 from Douro 😎🍷
Great episode! Au Bon Climat is one of my new favorites that I discovered by chance while on a trip in NYC. I definitely have been enjoying some great wine while trying to keep sane staying at home! Prior to just watching this episode, I binge-watched A Discovery of Witches on Shudder so I find everything discussed to be fascinating and fun!
Pinot Noir is one of those wines where if it is made well, it is amazing. When it's made poorly, you might as well chuck it down the drain. By the way, Au Bon Climat is great!
You know you guys should create a Wine Show Olympics...a series of winey obstacle course challenges that Goodey has to get through...one of them should be opening a bottle of wine ....without making it pop!!!
The majority of Aussie Rieslings tend to be dry, but still display a fruitiness which some ascribe as sweet. Our Rieslings are brilliant. Unfortunately they have fallen out of favour for Pinot Gris/Grigio or Chardy.
I read The Wine Show season 3 was out as of October. We went to watch it and it could not be found anywhere. Not on Prime Video, not on Netflix, not on Hulu. What gives?
@@freesimorgh l'm guessing that's because they're more interested in the wine than the book. Also, between projects I think Matthew's life is very full of other things.
Me too - my inner silver service waiter was cringing! It's been 35 years since I was a waitress and still this training rears it's head when something like this happens! That and holding the bottle around the neck!!! I love when we see the professionals hold bottles from the base, with thumb in the indent at the bottom. It takes me back to my training!
