By all accounts I've seen from those that know him, and my own subjective observation, I'm continually amazed at how down-to-earth and yet focused Matthew is; no pomp, no nonsense, no celebrity snobbery, just a knowledgeable dude enjoying life and trying to leave the world better than he found. A legend by any other name is... _alright, alright, alright._
@@mathewdavidemcconaughey4890 oh nevermind now I’ve seen your other comments you’re just a scammer makes more sense now thought you were real for a sec
Legendary! I will always love Dazed and Confused! Your character and the way you played him were beyond believable. And that car, we're talkin' some fuckin muscle.
I have seen this movie at least 100 times and still don’t get sick of it to this day. I never knew the story behind the iconic “alright alright alright”. Hearing the tale of how it came about just put the biggest smile on my face. And after listening to his Art of Livin’ virtual event today I can say with 100% certainty in my own mind that he truly understands the meaning of life.
The farewell to asshole coach on the 50 yard line was bittersweet poignant... H.S. football in Texas is akin to church. His character seemed lost with a dead end city job. Spending weekends with younger "cool kids" aimless.
So cool thanks for sharing that!! That's something me and my best friend who has recently passed always shared and we would crack up and I set her ringtone as you saying all right all right all right.. so every time she called me that's what I heard. 😁💔RIP BETH 🙏🏻✌🏼❤️
You are a wonderful person and a great actor. This world needs more humans like you Matthew. If you're ever up by West Tawakoni/Quinlan, TX we can chill on the lake and fish
I still remember the the first time I saw that movie, as if it were yesterday! Sidenote: I almost finished reading your book, "Greenlights" and I absolutely love it. Much respect for you and all that you do. Cheers!
speaking of this my Grandma and my brother got me The Dazed and Confused Script Autographs with u guys names on it Hand Written Im lucky to have a piece of history to go with My McConaughey Shrine since ur my Hero man !
And so it began, but where does it end? Because that’s the special gift that he has that you forget that you’re watching a character from a script and you’re walking along with someone you know from your every day life. All right all right all right!!☮️😊
It’s really interesting how his most iconic “lines”/actions on screen have to do with pumping himself up for the scene: one being the ones he talked about here (affirming what he got), and the other is his chest pounding in wolf of Wall Street that Leonardo Di Caprio caught him doing before the shoot & asked him to include it
I remember you played a gun shot victim on Unsolved Mysteries around the same time. I didn't know it at the time, of course. I was just a kid. I noticed it was you when I binge watched the series a few years ago. But it's not surprising that you are where you are today.
Haha I love how Zack G used that when he was interviewing you. You, Keanu, and Kurt Russell seem to be three people whom Hollywood hasn't screwed up beyond recovery! Thanks for the good times.
alright, alright you made a badass comm..I loves that y'all got to go out. She had red hair, living awesome.🌄🌹🌹🌹i thought that should of. Much love for you amazing. Very cool!!!!!!
I remember thinking about you "what a smug guy" 20 something years ago 😂 Now you are easily one of my favorite actors. Massive respect for your career.
Great story behind the making of that scene! I have a cool memory hanging with some friends and watching that movie during High School, we had a doobie that night, lol!
Dazed is in my top ten all time favorite movies. My kids have always teased me about it, "Mom were y'all really like that in the '70s?!?". I never answered, just laughed. 😉
He's still one of the coolest guys in movies. I saw Dazed and Confused in the theater with my family as a Jr. High kid. Lincoln Lawyer was another strong performance. True Detective was one of the best acting performances I've ever seen.
