So delightful that I looked up Oskar Böhme. He was born near Dresden in 1870 and followed his father as a trumpet player. He moved to St Petersburg, Russia in 1897 where he played and later taught. His career continued as the city was renamed to Leningrad. As the Great Terror took hold under Stalin, he was exiled as a foreigner close to the border with Kazakhstan. On October 3, 1938 he was sentenced to death and shot the same day.
