This man is one in a million. There will never be another mattress Mack. To see him helping our community and help Louisiana is something god sent. A true saint in my books. Cheers mattress Mack. We're all thankful that God graced us with your spirit.

That was the best story I've ever heard!

I’ve known Jim since high school, I graduated with his older brother George in 1968 when Jim was a junior. Nice kid but no one suspected what his future would hold. We were all taught some good basic Christian human principals at Bishop Lynch HS and it’s obvious Jim was listening carefully. What he’s done was not easy, living with an open heart and asking yourself every day, “What would Jesus do?” and then trying with all your strength to follow His will. Not many people walk their talk but he is certainly one of them. He makes me proud to be a human, proud to be an American and proud to be a Bishop Lynch Friar. GoodOnYou Jim .. you’re one special man. Be Well, live long … and yes … prosper too. 🖖 There’s a special place in heaven for souls like yours …. And you deserve it my friend.

I’ve known people who have worked for Jim, and yes, you will earn every dime. Most praise him, and some malcontents who have the opposite view, but he is a great teacher and humanitarian.

Mattress Mack is a curve-buster with a golden heart and has always gotten an A+ from this teacher! He wouldn't remember me particularly, but I knew him 25-30 years ago when I taught in the Houston area. I was fortunate then to know him and be able to tell my students about him.

He truly went the distance during and after Harvey. Again I say God bless that beautiful hearted man!

You're a good man mattress Mack.... I cannot say that for the Lakewood Church pastor... I've been watching mattress Mack since the 70s when he first came to Houston.... It was nice of him to open his doors to the people who was flooded out.... But Lakewood Church will not even open its doors to the people in the fluid.. great job mattress Mack we all love you... I've been a Mattress Mack fan since 1989. I had no idea he opened up a trade school! Even more good on him for that!

A true life hero

Growing up in the Houston area during the 80s and 90s, Mattress Mack and Marvin Zindler were two guys with cathy slogans I have never been able to get out of my head. Seeing how well Mattress Mack has treated his community and employees makes me glad I've got his slogan embedded in the brain forever! Wish I could attend his trade school for horticulture but I'm probably a bit old for tha opportunity

When I was in elementary (over 30 years ago) a classmate of mine dad was a voluntary firefighter. His dad died one day on duty. He was the sole bread winner of the family. Mattress Mac visited the family (mind you I grew up in a very poor neighborhood at the time) but he visited the family, gave them free furniture and relief fund for their household. I never forgot that. This guy is a true saint. A real good guy. No one rolls their eyes when they see his commercials.
