"Predecessors were Allan border, Ricky ponting, Steve Waugh and Adam Gilchrist and they said ' I'm the captain, and under my watch, we're not losing!! " Australian elite mentality 🔥🇦🇺
@@HkFinn83india had the greatest players after 2008 post the retirement of all Aussie legends like Gilchrist, Hayden, Warne, Langer, McGrath etc. how many world cups do they have since 2008? Just the 1! It's about the mentality more than it is about skill.. india in the 2007 world cup lost to Bangladesh.. Bangladesh were minnows. Why? Because they don't have the champion mentality.. till date ( that is 2023) they're still dwelling on 1 world cup win in 2011.. they made a biopic movie on their captain over 1 win mate😂😂 the Aussies have now won 6 and they don't really care.. they come in and they destroy teams, and go back to having beer and relaxing😂😂
@@ln3257 yeah , this time , india were the favourites but aus just won the cup right under their nose . but i also think the pitch condition was terrible during the final. but we all know who altered the pitches . dont we? india ruined their own chance of winning the world cup
Clarke had an every man for himself mindset. Look at the current NZ team. They actually work as a team which is why they are so widely admired and respected and have made it into the WC finals twice in the last 6 years. Clarke’s focus on individual performance and tough love technique only made the mental health and overall performance of his teammates worse. Hence why so many left the game when they still had a lot of cricket left in them.
Clarke was one of our best on field skippers ever who made sublime bowling and fielding changes and his declarations were brilliant but he was disliked by a lot of players - Hussey pulled the pin after Clarke demanded Huss attend a Sydney cruise piss on party even though Huss’s family had just flown into Sydney. He upset Katich to the point Kat had him up against a wall and he also pissed Watson off. The common thread was your career was over over if you got on Clarke’s wrong side. Clarke was an effing JERK
We all saw the true Michael Clarke this week, following Phillip Hughes tragic loss. I am proud that he is the leader of my country. I couldn't think of a better man to lead us! These critics can go prey on another young cricketer... Steve Smith ?
@@ChumpyChicken2 Because Hayden wasn't good enough prior to a year or so after Taylor retired. Taylor favoured nobody, he had no say in any selections during his entire four year captaincy.
@@Bernie8330 meanwhile Hayden was smacking double centuries again and again for QLD he only got a few chances for AUS while the other Australian players were out of form. He should have been given more of a chance.
@@ChumpyChicken2 He didn't make the most of the chances he did get. During the 1990s, it didn't matter what he was doing for QLD, at international level he showed he was out of his depth.
Haydos hated Mark Taylor because Taylor kept his Wagga mate Slater in the team while Hayden was scoring 1000 run shield seasons for fun year after year while Slater was scoring duck eggs. Taylors man love for Slater cost Australia 3-4 years of witnessing Haydos glory.
Bit harsh from Hayden. Australia were superb from the early 90’s to the mid 2000’s. They produced several all time great players alongside the genius of Shane Warne. The bloke in the pub on the Mile End Rd could have captained them. Michael Clarke was a good Australian captain..
Clarke is a lot like boarder his teams not very good and all these guys played when there were 25 - 30 really good players, Australia when Haden played could have fielded 2 teams that would be number 1 and 2 in the world, Clarke's team barely fields 11 decent players.
He's nothing like AB and you didn't even attempt to make a case for that in this comment. Just because he captained an average team doesnt make him an equivalent leader
@@jetpark3743 Hayden's full of himself. He was out of his depth at test level for his entire 20s, came good at 30 when the standard of bowling across the board had declined.
Clarke got runs. It's easy to lead when you're getting runs and it's easy to lead when you're winning. Aus cricket team shouldn't be that hard to captain.
Totally agree i dont think we will ever see a legecy again like the good years itr just wasnt the players ability on the field it was their attitude and now in 2021 its still not what i would expect as an Australian the India test win is proof of that i will give it to India they played with heart great to see
@@sln7839 LOL. We made the final under him, and only one team can win the final. Aravinda de Silva played a magnificent innings and deserved to be on the winning side. What a dumb thing to say.
dropping katich shows hes a joke. who would drop an outstanding batsman who could bowl well and field anywhere. for his mate who was clearly not even close as anything
Ruins the spectacle the DRS yes there are bad decision but imagine... ashes cricket deciding test 9 down wraps the pad given out the crowd goes mad the winning team celebrate. Batsman calls a review takes 3 minutes ruins the flow
Clarke seems like a flog of a bloke, but he was an excellent captain. I'd have him second to Taylor since Border (who was before my time so I have no opinion). Waugh and Ponting were average at best. Paine was doing well until the Indian series recently, where he was awful.
India or pakistan sledge it with hindi or urdu. Aussies sledge with english language. The mcc will see it unsportsmanlike if someone said motherfucker and not motherchod, I guess?
go back to your bible and eating bread, you came you conquered now shut up. Cricket is a game of eleven individuals some bat well whilst others fail, same with the bowlers.
Hayden, Dude, you are full of yourself. You were not good enough for test cricket for your entire 20s when you were carving up shield attacks, but only delivered at test level when all the great or very good fast bowlers of the 1990s were gone from the scene, ala Ambrose, Walsh, Bishop, Donald, Gough, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and one or two others. How do we define you? By all the soft 3rd innings runs Ponting allowed you to make by not enforcing follow ons, or by your 380 against the Mighty Zimbabwe? Clarke was a superior test batsman to you every day of the week.
Haydos pounded every bowler put in front of him. Was miles better than your nancy boy Clarke who couldn't stop looking at himself in the mirror, drama queen .
Nah... The guy had it hard, his back injuries, his flashiness, his personal life, it just all went against him... I have gotta say that I sympathize with him
