As a mountain biker when I watched mattye cyclocross, I thought to myself: why doesn't he get into mountain biking? He'd love it. I feel like BMXers would naturally love mountain biking.

I would say, to see Matty on an enduro or dh bike would be unreal but to see him on am xc rig is still cool👊🤌

Both Matty and Scotty are true bike enthusiasts. No matter the type. I remember Scotty was one of the few riders who would ride street, park, dirt, etc, and same with Matty.

Next stop Trek Remedy, It's basically a BMX bike with lots of travel. I coincidentally got mine on Monday and went for a spin and my fun-o-meter went instantly into the red zone. Matty with his abilities could become the golden boy at enduro races. By the way, i believe a dropper post would help you Scotty if you ever plan to ride a mountain bike. I knew once he got into Gravel he'd start inching his way closer to Enduro or Downhill racing. XC is just the next logical step along the way. Although idk what the terrain is like out in NJ.

For those kinds of jumps and stuff, I almost think a trail bike would be better suited. The Pro-caliber has those flexible seat stays, and they seem like the would just snap from the shock of too high of an impact.

Super Sick build! I would totally consider getting a longer dropper post though, Just so you can really get the seat out of the way on the downhill. If your going for a lightweight dropper i would check out the "Lev Ci"!

Such a sick mountain bike!

For that lowrider bike you can do what we used to to at Gordon Cycle back in the mid 90's. Take a 36 spoke hub and 20 inch 36 hole rim, dill a hole in-between each hole to make it a 72 spoke wheel and straight lace it to make it look like a Dayton wheel (we made both chrome and gold). Basically taking a 20 dollar wheel set and selling it for $120 to $180 bucks for an hour or 2 worth of work.

If you are going to be doing XC on a serious basis, you will want to upgrade your shock and fork to be remote lockout down the road. I just got back into bikes last year and love every second of it. Trying to learn again and get into gravity riding. I wish you the best on that sick XC 29'r :)

MTB is the way to go. I grew up riding bmx, but i switched to dirt jumpers and started trail riding an enduro bike as well. You cant toss around an mtb like a bmx, but they can handle so much more speed and way bigger jumps.
