I can’t believe that I never thought of using Color Wow in my brows! It’s great for touching up the grey in your hair, but it never occurred to me to use it to cover the grey in my brows. Really a terrific teaching video. Thanks!
My 2 cents! After struggling to fill in eyebrows getting thinner/more sparse for years and NOT enjoying this process I found a fabulous permanent makeup artist for eyebrows and lips and have NEVER regretted it! ❤
This might be my favorite video so far. I’m going through a really hard time right now. My hair is falling out along with my brows due to stress and I get so down on myself every morning. This I so helpful. Thank you for this.
Great video not to criticize because you do a fantastic job with your teaching but many people dont know where to start their brows where there arch is located and where the brow should end maybe you could explain those points on drawing the brows. Much love😊
My microblading is wonderful. I first started in 2018. I have only needed two color boosts since 2018. You have to get the correct person to do it. Also, cheap products cannot be used when microblading is done. It has worked for me. Sorry, you had a bad experience.
Since my natural brow color is such a light, _cool_ blonde, I've had a REALLY hard time finding a brow pencil that works for me. Ulta's Ultra Slim Brow Pencil in "Taupe" (which is their version for blondes) is SO close to my natural brow color. I'm so excited to _finally_ find a brow pencil that isn't too warm or too dark! 😍 If you are a very light, _cool_ blonde, try it!
Thank you for this video! I'll be watching over and over. I love my nyx lift and snatch and Maybelline now has the build-a-brow. I have it in soft brown with the lift and snatch in auburn. Together they make a great brow. I'm really interested in the pomade. I've avoided it for a long time but you've given me the push I need.
I’m loving the Anastasia Brow Freeze gel in the tube. I shadow in with Basic from Seint and then laminate those babies. Stays until I wash it off! Sometimes I’ll go in on top with Blonde Lift and Snatch if I need more definition. Build a Brow was too warm in color for me.
Thank you for all the different options! I only have brows at the front, but they have shifted pretty far back from my nose. My brows are the bane of my existence, and I appreciate all of your time and attention on this video. I use the Anastasia Brow Definer, micro pencil and the brow pen to give dimension to my brows so they look fuller. My issue is filling in the front so they look like they start where they should. Great video!
I agree! I did the tattoo brows because of my under active thyroid and over plucking of eyebrows years ago. My tattooing has faded over the years, but I still have the shape. I need to fill in with pencil. Love this video. TY!
I didn’t over pluck, but Covid and age has taken a toll. I also did tattoo brows, loved it and didn’t have color changes except for fading. Which was fine because it was a bit dark and not the perfect shade. I also have the shape and fill in.
firstly .. Congrats on your (TM) 🎉‼.. Thank you, I thoroughly have been enjoying your video (officially a full subscriber now!) I so applicate the detail and different examples .. I've struggled so much with my brows I just can't seem to get them to look right. I'm excited to try your techniques and tips and I applicate someone finally said "brows are heard" Thank you 🙏! and now I understand how pick you best color tone, I've been doing warm and think I should try and ash .. lovin your channel. Lou x
I have red hair (copper red) and it’s REALLY difficult to do my sparse brows! I have had soooo many screw-ups! Any tips for us with red hair? Thanks - ALWAYS love your videos❤️
Michele, thank you again so much for doing this video! I was wondering about the Kimiko products. Everyone says it’s the very best, but I see that they don’t have much of a shade range. Does that brand work at all for light colored brows? I’ve been using the Anastasia blonde pencil, but I’m telling you, it disappears within a few hours. Same with the It Cosmetics pencil. It looks okay at first but fades pretty quickly. Other brands I’ve tried are way too dark and look way too fake. I have ash blonde, sparse brows with no tails, and with a huge bald spot in the left one. Having a really hard time, finding something that looks natural!
The BEST eyebrow tutorial I've ever seen. I liked every one of those looks on you. My brows were microbladed four years ago and are fading, although the shape remains. Which of these products would you recommend to use over old ink?
I'm wondering if you could clarify a bit. Anastasia's Taupe says it's a cool taupe but you say taupe is warm. And her taupe looks lighter than her blonde. Could you expand on that a bit? Thanks so much. I'm not really sure what color I need to get in this brand.
Thank you so much!!! I can’t wait to pick up a couple of the products you used and give it a go! 💕 Always love your content, this was much needed by me!
I still like Maybelline light brown brow powder, and then I use NYX Pen in taupe to draw individual brow hairs because I only have about two dozen hairs left right near the inner corners with no tail, thanks thyroid!
Thanks for the great tips on doing brows and colors. I have been looking forever for the right color for my sparse brows, and everything was pulling either too warm or too light or too dark. When you mentioned Ash brown for silver hair, I went to Ulta and got an Anastasia ash brown. It is the perfect color.
What would you recommend for hair that is graying with just a little color left in it, Fair to light coloring skin, and what little hair I have on my brows black and that coloring always looks so dark on me..
I've already watched this twice. Appreciate the many options! I over plucked my eyebrows and, when I finally realized it, sadly, not all the hair grew back. I now have sparse and patchy brows. Using brow pencil only doesn't last all day on me. The pomade and/or powder with brow freeze might just be the solution. Thanks so much for this wonderfully informative tutorial.
Every single brow you show, looks perfect!! I just love watching and learning tips and tricks from you❣️ And I’m definitely in the Mature Makeup class 😍
Thank you Michelle, this was the most informative, helpful brow tutorial I have watched...and I've watched ALOT of them trying to figure out what to do with my aging, changing brows! I was analyzed to be True Summer by CB. I changed my hair to cool, ash blonde highlights per her recommendation. My pre pubescent brows were dish water blonde. They are now some shade of greying brown color with a few white ones. What shade of WOW root powder would you recommend? They don't have a ash blonde/brown on their website. I did not know that Taupe and Soft Brown go warm. I've been using an Elf Taupe pencil because I thought Taupe was neutral brown and grey. But I think my brows look off and I have so many brow cosmetics in my cabinet that I've tried that don't work, I've been stumped. Thanks for any suggestion you can make ❤.
Oh my I can't thank you enough for your passion of teaching Your expertise is so appreciated I am beyond grateful for your time and thoughtfulness in making this video I struggle with it all Tweezing everything to a thin line in the 80's , then developing thyroid issues along with age, and really never needing to shave but once a week as a regular thing all my life, yes that was a true realization that I was always grateful for BUT.. the baby fine sparse hair for "eyebrows" now is my struggle, I never learned the art of the eyebrow nor the crater lines under my eyes now oh my it's easier going without makeup But I'm 58 and I love makeup on everyone
Thank you for this! I use Ardell brow tint to baseline my grays and slightly darken - makes a huge difference. I then just fill in a bit with a pencil when doing makeup with techniques learned from you ❤
Thank u for this video! Extremely helpful! Ive been wanting to microblade for many years but want to avoid the color turning orange over time. Im apprehensive and would rather deal with my own brows than try to cover up the "side effects" of micro blading. I need a brow gel strong enough to hold up my stubborn downward growing brows
I’m silver/ash blonde with silver brows. I like, and can get away with, ABH Ash brown pencil…BUT I’ve found that because my brow tail is so sparse the pencil either goes on too sheer or fades/smudges off. If I apply it thicker, it looks cakey and gross. Any tips?
As a lifelong platinum blonde, I have had extreme difficulty finding a fantastic shade. My brows are very light and my eyelash you can’t even see without mascara. What would you suggest for my eyebrow possibly water proof? Also, could you suggest a lash fixative also water proof? Because after Covid they are growing very straight, some downwards and some are wonky. Funny thing is, my hair was straight, brows full and tamed & lashes were curled & nice length. After Covid, my hair got way curlier, my brows a little sparse and unruly and my lashes straight and wonky but very long including my bottom lashes. 😮.
You mentioned that you had microblading. Did you just let it fade or did you have it removed? I just had mine done (combo - powder / microblading) and I’m a cool dark brown. Just wondering if I should have them removed once faded / color changes? Also, I probably won’t go back and have them retouched. I’m really not a fan and have tattoo remorse.
I had old traditional brow tattoo where they block in shape like a pencil, looked like a pencil at first until it faded. I had them done in 2005 and probably noticed them totally gone by 2011❤
I’d be happy if I had pencil thin eyebrows then I have something to work with. I just don’t have much eyebrows left anymore. I never had pencil, thin eyebrows never over plucked. She did way too much talking before she got into the eyebrow thing and I got bored.
Love the video, I've learned so much! Do I remember you saying that you have loved using "Dream" from Seint in your brows? What are your thoughts about Seint's brow wax and would you combine the two?
Just For Men Mustache and Beard die. Cheap, lasts forever and takes 5 minutes maybe twice a month. I’m gust starting to get gray in my brows which is making them look thinner than they actually are. This really works. Definitely go lighter than your brows as I have dark brows and went for medium brown which was still a little too dark.
I realized my brows look best when I do them in the regular mirror, seeing my whole face, versus just using the little magnifying mirror. They look more symmetrical. I like the looks of the pens but I think pencils are easiest for me, especially as someone with arthritis. Like you, I had mine “tattooed” back in 2002. It is now almost non-existent. It was so convenient, but I am not in the financial place to keep doing that.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I was especially delighted to learn the proper way to apply the pomade.. I had been using an eyebrow pencil from Thrive that I liked and which was the perfect color. However the color has been out of stock. I liked your tutorial and Anastasia color suggestions so ordered the pomade in taupe. I tried it today and love it. Your application process turned out awesome brows. Thanks again!
I have silver and grey hair and I love benefit soft grey but they are the only company that carries that color eyebrow products. I wish there was more soft grey brow products out there.
I thought I learned so much from you about brows until this video - wow! I am so brow challenged and have all the tools to do great brows, but somehow just miss the mark on so many days. I will take this and practice, practice, practice! Thank you for all the help and encouragement you give us! Also excited to see your new hair color!! ❤
Brows are EVERYTHING to your face I’m 65 brunette (thanks to the color I use😅) I’ve always been a tweezer like every other day-thankfully never plucked them off-😮I have used IT universal brow pencil for quite a few years-there are so many people that I see that are my age that I just want to bring up their brows or lack there of and suggest filling them in-it just definitely ages someone in my opinion
He did my tail first and dark to match my brow hair, not the hair on my head. They he ombre’d it inward and there was almost no product in my inner brows but was so soft and pretty❤
In UK a lot of us gals use Eylure London Dybrow, (don’t know if you have it in the U.S) it’s a cream formula (several shades) you mix up and paint onto your eyebrow hairs with a brush for 15 mins or so ( I leave it on longer) and then wipe off excess. It’s so easy to use, picks up any hairs that are there and colours them, lasts about 6 weeks but gradually fades out until you do it again. For younger girls with full eyebrows that’s enough but for me it takes a few seconds in the morning with my pencil to sharpen up the ends of the brow. Very low maintenance with natural results.
I got the Anastasia brow pencil. I have very light blonde eyebrows and their blonde pencil is just too dark. I was so bummed 😞 I can't find a blonde from any brand that works for me. Maybe I can get one from Sweden or Norway... 🤔
@@maturemakeupmasterclass I know, right? I'm not even a natural, platinum blonde, but I have these way light eyebrows! So weird. I haven't tried the Maybelline yet. But I will! Thank you, Michelle 🥰
Thank you so much for doing this! I had absolutely no idea a person was supposed to use the brow pomade and brush by laying it flat. I will definitely try that. On another note, can you show how to actually block out the brows in a natural and not theatrical way? I literally have more bald spots than I have brow hair, and my brow hair is blonde and pretty much invisible. I think it would be easier to just block the whole things out. I know that is a trend that comes and goes, and it can look really pretty especially with a strong eyeshadow look. I tend to do strong eyeshadow anyway. Can you show us how to do that?
@@maturemakeupmasterclassAh, thank you so much! Well, I got the ABH stencils, and I was not successful at making them look nice. Honestly, all it did was tear up my brow pencil. 😂
I am a silver sister and truly struggle with the color tones. Taupe is to warm and ash is to dark. I currently have a soft medium brown and it's just okay. My favorite so far is Patrick Ta's major defining pencil in med brown. It glides on not waxy like NYX and has a super skinny tip. I would like to try a felt tip for hair like strokes, if you have any suggestions?
This is gold! Thank you for such an enlightening and educational explanation about products, techniques and what works best for each brow situation. I loved it! Thank you so much, Michelle!
I’m 4 years into my trademark.. it’s insane. Well over 20k in. Just a suggestion use the ® as anyone can technically use the TM. The ® is EARNED, and more regarded. Congrats🎉, wish me luck.
Thank you for a great tutorial on brows! I've wanted to get brow micro blading or tattooing done for so long. Unfortunately I have the condition that causes you to make excess and raised scar tissue, scleroderma. So I am very leary of doing anything which may cause them to look even worse. I way over plucked for so many years and now I have low thyroid so YAY for me and my lack of eyebrows!!! I really appreciate your tutorial on different brow products and techniques. I'm going to get up and make the 30+ minute drive to ULTA and grab a bunch of brow products. Wish me luck in finding products without red in them!!
So timely for me! I’m struggling with some white brow hairs. I started using Seint on them, along with Kosas pencil, which helps but I’m going to check out a few of these products. Your detailed instructions on using the brow brush is so helpful. Congrats on your Trade Mark!
Morning Michelle 😊. This was wonderful ❤I have always felt if my brows are done I can get away with very little makeup. I am 60 with salt and pepper hair. I found the brand EyeEmbrace they specialize in brow products for silver /white/gray ❤❤❤thanks
Thank you for this great video! I’m fortunate to have pretty full brows so I find the micro pencils best, just to fill in. Love Anastasia. Going to try the Maybelline too. You’re such a great teacher! ❤
Anastasia & Benefit are the best IMO. I love doing my brows! Although they are thick and have many gray rogue hairs now… Sometimes I tint them using regular hair color in a neutral medium brown.
Love all these tips! I feel like brows are the only makeup thing I have mastered. I get compliments all the time. I love a natural boy brow look. I totally agree with Michelle that Anastasia makes the best brow products and colours. Also, the benefit brow gel has been my HG for like a decade but the new Anastasia brow gel has taken top spot! It's very similar only it has more hold to it. I also used to use Dior brow pencil for a decade but Anastasia won me over again. I find I need a more "ash" colour for winter and slightly warmer for summer. I've tried the pomades, pens, powders and powder pencils but my fave are the regular thin pencils and brow gel. Lately I've been using gel first and then filling in with pencil. Uber natural!
I shaved my brows off in the late ‘60’s early ‘70’s and my brow tails never grew back and my brow heads were very sparse 😢 My Son & DIL gifted me a session for Christmas, to have them microbladed and I am so happy with the results! I will be 71 this Fall and it is a choice that works for me at this season of life. I never would have made this choice when I was younger. My permanent makeup aesthetician used a dark grey/ash brown mixture ink and it’s perfect for my heavy salt and pepper hair.
Good morning. Your sweater is the perfect color. Please share where you purchased. Brows aren't my favorite. I spend so much time on them to try to get them to look decent. Whenever I do them in a hurry, they look awesome 👌 😅😅
Anastasia nails it in the brow industry. I wanted to love kosa, it doesn't have the staying power like Anastasia. I was wearing a hat the other day, cold weather here in NY, and the hat rubbed off one of my kosa brows, I exchanged for Anastasia. Thank you for this video, love it as I struggle with brows. So true, practice is key!!!
Amazing and helpful pro tips, thank you, thank you! For drugstore, I'm enjoying the Mabelline brow pen w/gel. The gel really holds and does not get white and crunchy throughout the day. I love Kosas , Antastasia and Color Wow as well. Can't wait to see your new hair color.
Yes that ABH brow freeze gel is amazing. I commented earlier before hearing you mention it. I also use the flat part to get the laminated look. They don’t budge.
I've had both the brows & eyeliner done several years ago. Looked great however the pigment didn't seem to last as long on me. I'm sure everyone's skin reacts differently. I decided I can buy a lot of brow pencils & eyeliners for the cost without the pain, lol. To each their own. Thanks for the brow tutorial. Looks great!
I have a ton of missing brow hair due to autoimmune disorders and the meds. Thank You so much for this video Michele because I cannot get a natural brow 😔
