Deadshot has been one of my favorite perks since Mob of the Dead, don't feel bad. It's satisfying as hell, when you kill a zombie you kill it with a fucking headshot. This is elementary level zombie knowledge.
I lost it on this joke. I've never seen this guys videos, 14 mins in its been very wholesome and nice and then he compares the tightness of some hallways in a zombies map, to the tightness of my mother's vaginal walls. I lost it.
@@non7781 hope you stick around. His reviews are some of the most well thought out content the zombies community has ever seen and he’s a genuinely great dude.
24:35 The return of the classic round change music kind of has a hidden meaning to it my opinion. The track that’s used is pulled straight from the World at War mission ‘Eviction’. A whole minute or so of the track is played at the start of every game of MDT. For those who haven’t played the mission, it sees Reznov, Dimitri, and co fighting through the apartments, streets, and metro of Berlin in their fight to end the Third Reich. MDT’s design is pulled heavily from this mission, and in universe, we’re probably fighting through the same buildings and on the same ground that Reznov, Dimitri, and co fought through nearly forty years earlier. And we’re fighting to prevent an attempted revival of the Third Reich as well, making sure that the sacrifices of those who fought and died to end it in the first place were not in vain. That’s my interpretation of the track’s inclusion at least.
@@Jrrizzo If you where to talk about the sorry state of the zombie variation on PC (be it for old and dated games now, which makes it unlikely) and they actually ended up fixing it a month or 2 later like they did gorod....I would genuinely consider suicide....for 5 seconds....before going back to DBD as virtually murdering people in memeing fashion is a good outlet for stress.
Seriously though, i'm glad someone as positive but fair as you is in the community. People really shit all over Cold War Zombies for various reasons, but you really try to give the positives where they're due and i really respect you trying your best to point out when they correct their mistakes. You're one of the biggest reasons i'm excited for Onslaught in November and one of the reasons i gave Firebase Z a shot after being bored of Die Maschine Keep up the good work man.
I swear, if you're the reason Cold War zombies is getting more and more enjoyable each time with these reviews (assuming Mr./Mrs. Treyarch Employee is watching your videos), I'm gonna give you a big ol' smooch in the face
I love how Rizzo has this ongoing conflict with making fun of the zombies community and Reddit specifically. It’s nice to see someone actually call out some of the bullshit that the community does
Yeah half of them are just growing out of zombies but lack the self awareness to realize that. Zombies is fun asf this year but youtubers who’ve spent the last 10 years squeezing the mode for content are burnt out but instead of just admitting that they blame the game.
That is true the best example of this is mr dalekjd his zombies content in terms of rumors and zombies videos are garbage. Like come on when he saw the teaser for outbreak the first thing he though was "we are getting kino der toten confirmed" just because there was a chandalier in the teaser.
Loved the review, and personally, I think the only thing I disagree with is the visual design of the CRBR-S. It looks very otherworldly and sci-fi, but I feel like that's the point- whereas the D.I.E. Machine was a top secret Axis project from the 1940s' and the RAI-K 84 is an unfinished Russian prototype and they both absolutely look the part, the CRBR-S is a complete yet experimental weapon developed by the CIA; I personally find that it fits CW Zombies' nature of treating the CIA as an incredibly resourceful MIB-esque organization dabbling in otherworldly technology. It definitely looks out of place in the middle of war-torn Berlin, but I think that was the intention. It's a highly experimental sidearm being carried by elite agents of a foreign (for Germany) national intelligence agency, and I find it more or less looks the part for that.
I entirely agree, it fits in really well thematically as well as visually. Which shouldn't come as a shock because it's like the first man made wonder weapon to escape prototype hell. It's visually an antithesis to the zombies' rusty, bloody, unclean "metalpunk" style. Next to the Krasny and Mangler, it makes perfect sense. That, and it's a biiiiit odd to be complaining that something is *different*. Ig that's just the natural CoD player instinctual reaction to something different lmao.
It still might be posible since weaver got a opererator bundle, why not kravchenko. Treyarch also said that they will be adding more operators to cold war.
I still love your approach to things where you can decipher what's great and what doesn't work about a product, but still be honest in saying you don't like something while respecting how everyone else around you feels, especially in Mauer Der Toten's case. I really enjoyed your work again this time around and I'm looking forward to whatever you got going on down the road be it Zombies or Call of Duty again or...what have you (ie Persona 3). Like you and Persona 3, I'm still trying to do the same thing where I generally focus on things that I really love/popped out to me going forward. So I'm hoping I can still make that work for myself and my own Content Creator endeavors. Anyway, thanks for the review, John! Really appreciate you : )
@@AVGNROCKS1996 honestly, yeah. I’m good with it. John buddy can take as much time as he needs. He’s like lemmino, takes a while but when it drops it’s fire.
I think that something Mauer is missing are custom zombies models, they are the same than Firebaze z or Outbreak I don't remember, that realy afeccted the inmersion in mi case. Great review btw
I will say. Treyarch are also trying to make a zombies mode for vanguard. I believe that the amount of stress they are dealing with. If the map generally works and they fix the bugs. I think it’ll be okay. I don’t believe it would be okay if they weren’t dealing with so much work put on by activision. Great vid ofc
You knocked it out of the park again, i love how much effort you put into these videos especially since you don’t monetize them. Looking forward to the next one
I fell in love with Valentina’s boss fight, but now that the honeymoon phase is over, I can say that it bothers me a little. Why, you may ask? Because I feel like you’re basically forced to use the death machine and CRBRS. If you try using any other weapon, it’ll take an INCREDIBLY long time, at least back when I last played that map. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me. That aside, Mauer der Toten is by far the best map in Cold War Zombies, and I’d go as far as say that it’s one of the best Zombies maps we’ve gotten in an incredibly long time. I’m super excited for DLC 4!
I love CW so far, the zombies are finally fixed after 2 games. The gameplay is fun. And crossplay means there will always be a lobby of whatever you want, which doesn't exist on all PC ports for COD, being able to grind all the guns is neat to contrast to gambling like an 11 year old with moms credit card on FIFA. I only wish you could unlock more characters initial forms before buying cool cosmetics. Which in itself is cool as hell, seeing a zombie or a tiger or a fucking bird attack and murder people. Or pull out a head for the lols. And being able to give in game commands with out a mic. *chefs kiss* The only thing that sucks is the MP getting the only Theater mode. And the lack of disable all HUD option. Makes recording stuff painful. Sucks to think it's reaching the end of it's life cycle. I think a cod that is the "final" would be neat. Which is why I loved CODOL so much, it felt like the only COD for the COD all in one package And then bosses feel like you really need to prepare to kill them. The healing is quite honestly a game ender in a lot cases. First time fighting valentina with a random we could beat the first phase due to the oppressive waves and healing. But it remains fun. Which the old BO3 and BO4 got this much fixes and nurturing. Sad to think those games remain broken, in their, tombstone state. That flashlight toggle would be nice on outbreak though Can't see a thing in that dark dark map. And the lack of tigers on ZOO is a big missed opportunity considering they have IX zombies on dead ops
Nice to finally see this out there. Very well structured and Edited. Sounds very professional and clear while still keeping the humour and charm of your reviews. I can imagine how painful getting some of those b-roll no hud shots were. Not gonna go over every little thing in this video but I just wanted to mention a couple things. >Tombstone not costing anything is a good change although feels like an overcorrection. It costing all of your points would be horrible because if you bought anything either on purpose or on accident that meant you just couldn't get all of your gear back. But now that it costs nothing its honestly a good strat to die sometimes in Coop to get a whole load of points. Perfect change for me would probably be the stash costing about 5k less than whatever you spawn in with. >Your naming of the Title Cards make me >:( >The tweet you made about how covering live service games is annoying gets proven right as theres supposedly a fix for blueprints today. >I feel like in the future, whether that be later in CW or VG if you decide to cover it, You should put something at the start of the video or mention "This video is made as of the Season X update" or a date. Just so looking back its clear what is in this video and certain things may be missing due to it just not being in the game at that point. Kinda like that bit where you mention the blueprint bug or something. (I also say that because of how your videos can sometimes come a bit late after an addition and also if you're viewing on TV or Console, RU-vid is annoying so sometimes it will say the upload date or be vague and say how long ago it was uploaded like "1 year ago" or "3 months ago") >Good Lightning Links reference there ;)
Man, this review did not disappoint! I love how detailed your videos are, with informed analysis spiced up with an occasional meme here and there. Personally, I will wait as long as it takes for your reviews, because they are the very definition of quality over quantity. Incredible work, and I hope you have a great rest of your night!
Gotta be frank, I think the Cerberus fits in just fine artistically. It's the one main man made wonder weapon in the game (or in any treyarch game for that matter) that's actually escaped prototype hell, was very recently made in cannon, and made for more wide spread use. It has it's place among the DIE and Rai K, as the most refined and powerful wonder weapon the world has seen yet. I think it fits in with Mauer very well, considering that it doubles down on the "steelpunk" style as I like to call it. Everything Dark Aether adjacent is rugged and rusted, and takes various parts from various things, everything made by requiem is advanced sci fi esque super-tech, and is very often shiny and clean.
The first laugh of Dark Aether for me was when you pick up the hand for Klaus and Doctor Jager talks some shit about being willing to surgically replace them with your own hands if you'd like, they wouldn't work he says after but its just something he's willing to do.
Oh my God did I miss you reach 100K?!? Congrats dawg, I’ve waited a long time for this. I’m not sure if you did this recently or if it was awhile back but I hope you’re proud man, you earned it after all this amazing content over the years. :3 Also woot woot new video, I’m excited to watch this one!
What I love the most about Mauer Der Toten is that it recaptures the magic and personality of previous treyarch maps that has been lacking in Die Maschine and Firebase Z. Even the round based transition waw sound is back and it makes the map feel more alive ironically
The Disciples have a nasty habit of buffing their allies and draining you at the same time in outbreak. They also spawn 2-3 at a time and become a colossal pain in the ass. As for Mauer, there's another problem I found... The Kransy Soldat can also spawn beside the Wunderfizz machine too. And when he does, he has a habit of getting STUCK at the top of the rope where the Wunderfizz is, and can then lob explosives at you covering the ENTIRE area below incessantly. And you can't really hit him either!
Amazing video, Rizzo. Glad I’m not alone when it comes to enjoying CW zombies (hell, it’s my favorite iteration of 3arc zombies if I’m gonna be honest), and seeing your positivity and constructive criticism is really refreshing from all the basic ass hate the game gets on Twitter and Reddit.
I really liked the video but I have to disagree with the wonder weapon design criticism. The CRBRS was manufactured by requiem and looks like it was planned to be mass produced
I definitely hated playing cold war due to the attachment and mulekick bug. Especially because I was doing challenges. But Mauer admittedly brought me back
The wonder weapon is kinda a “non issue.” Because it fits the theming. The DIE is a prototype that wasn’t even designed to be a weapon The RAI K was cobbled together from parts in the dark aether, most likely the ray gun mark 3, and was developed in secret as a pet project by a single scientist Meanwhile the CBRS is developed by a multi million dollar subsidiary of a fucking government, led by the best and brightest stars in their field, using technology and power WAY beyond normal abilities for the time. So yeah, of course it’s gonna be a hyper hi tech sci fi laser gun.
I agreed with everything, except for CRBS not looking the part because all the other weapons were made by Omega or Germans but I think it works because requiem made it and it’s brand “new”. I really do hope the next wonder weapon is crazy tho, I’d love a more dark aether “artifact” type wonder weapon which is a little less grounded compared to others
I think the whole subway station area is pretty cool like how you can train there pretty well but if youre not careful you can get run over at any time. And Klaus just stopping the entire train for the easter egg was pretty badass. The whole zipline feature is also really cool and well executed. The Klaus upgrade process and the free Crbs quest are also cool little things you could have mentioned. Other than that 10/10 mr Rizzo
Fun Fact: When killing Zombies with the Cerberus the first varient it will drop is always the Blazer mod. This is because of the EE step requiring the Blazer to burn through the Endstation Lab. I find it neat as it helps lower down the reliance of rng for the quests. (Looking at you Moon and Revelations)
I do 100% understand the whole, "if I don't like how it's coming out, I won't post it" sort of thing I got that, and being a perfectionist myself as hard as it is I end up slamming my head against my desk as I try to tackle a huge project by myself which is not easy at all. Resulting in anxiety attacks, depression, and of course, burnout. I know my friends and family encourage me but it's still difficult trying to get my head on straight. Especially, when I get sidetracked and leaving, said project on hold, indefinably.
HOLY SHIT RIZZO THANK YOU FOR SHOWING THE WEAPON KIT BUG. It's been bothering me like crazy since s5 launched and I haven't heard anyone else mention this issue. As someone who basically only uses custom mods in zombies, this kills all momentum of the match for me and almost every time it happens, I end the match because of how it messes up the game from there on with weapon swapping. Also, congrats on 100k! Been watching since your BO3 vid. Keep up the great work man!
When RU-vid actually recommends something good. It's nice to see an actual unbias look at Cold War Zombies, the good and the bad, not just one or the other. I also really like your profile picture.
Man I love this content, You put so much effort in with little details and genuinely caring about what you make I agree with most of your points and the ones I don't agree with they're mainly your nitpicks, please keep up the great work!
Hmm... explains alot. Im still trying to complete fire base z. Yes i am that far benhind. Stuck on the finding 3 of the right memories part. Also learned alot of cool stuff i didnt know in this video. Thank you!
What they could've done with the CRBR-S is add parts that you would see on a normal pistol, like a leather grip or something to make it look like a modified pistol(like what they did the the rai-k, you can tell its a modified ak47).
One thing about the CRBRS I’m glad that for once they’ve come up with a new idea about wonder weapons. Instead of it being the typical one weapon with ability to packapunch or 4 so varied elemental variants. It’s instead now 4 weapons in one with you getting them fairly commonly as drops from kills, a very active weapon type that rewards you for getting kills and doesn’t lock the variants out behind a sidequest which for me a casual is super nice. It’s also great that as you packapunch they all get packapunched, plus the free ammo from picking up the mods doesn’t hurt at all. But yeah it’s a bit weak and definitely out of place.
The only reason people shit on death perception in Bo4 is because it's not worth taking up a perk slot over the likes of dying wish and other crutch perks imo. I'm glad to see it back, especially with the vulture aid like effect.
I think the hate around death perception just boils down to the fact that we got THAT perk but were still missing one of the four original perks that have been in the game since WaW der riese
Cold war zombies has been fun, I love outbreak, the round base maps are good, none of them are what I would say are bad, and I love how we could use operators as the cast, meaning if you had a favorite (bulldozer for me) he was a main protagonist thought the story, overall I have to say zombies has been good.
15:35 Hmm... Those guys are just like the Necromancers from Call of Duty's Mobile Necromancers, sitting back while making their zombie friends stronger and all.
