Well, whatever Eden had to do to perform through Oscar’s cancer story, it worked. His death episode aired on my birthday. I was alone all day, feeling down, and I sobbed through the whole show.

Maurice I love you as Sonny Corinthos...watch GH every other day and honestly you are probably the most iconic character on the show. 27 years and counting...almost hitting that 30 year mark. But that being said I enjoy your character with amnesia as "Mike" because it gives the character of Sonny a fresh reset.

I love all of the State of Mind episodes, but this is and will be my all-time favorite. I always wondered how roles affected the actor/actress, positive along with negative. I can see how they would need a way to decompress after an emotional scene(s). It is hard to just shut those emotions off. I think having a therapist available would be very beneficial. I also want to thank you for State of Mind because watching these you gave me the vocabulary to explain what I was feeling when I did not know how to explain what I was feeling. Keep up the great work, and know that you are helping to improve lives. 🥰🥰🥰

I have dealt with mental illness through family members depression and bi polar disorder. I have Cerebral palsy, and with that comes depression at times, but to get myself out of it I write. Writing has become my release with everything that I gone through in my life.

Mental health is important! Thanks for speaking out about it and trying to de-stigmatize things like bipolar disease and depression.

As always I enjoyed today’s State of Mind. Eden is such a beautiful young girl, I had no idea that the stories you all do effect you so deeply, I too think you should have someone available to speak to on set for those times that you need them. Joshua has learned a lot from you Maurice! Thank You for letting us see the teens point of view, they are our future. Maurice, you grow even more handsome during these later years. I have been watching you since you were Nico, I'll say no more. So you must know that's been a long time now. You're so great at your craft and that will never change. I enjoyed the exchange with Eden and your Son. It's lovely to see the perspective of younger actors on emotionally difficult acting scenes, and still try and maintain their own controlled pysche. You are such an inspiration to the mental illness spectrum and to everyone else as well. Such an honor to be able to write this post. I'm truly a long time fan.

I love the idea of having a therapist for actors during certain characters that they do. Great idea.

I love watching the acting. You do have to draw from your own experiences. That’s hard. I admire most actors. Amazing , in my opinion.

The actors portraying serious, life-threatening times of life such as illness and death to play and take its toll on the actors. I have watched GH for awhile being an incredible fan of the show, but feel ashamed that I never took into account of what they were going through in their own lives. I was putting them in a fairytale life style of fame and wealth. I foolishly thought they get the script and act it out. The process is so intense of of what you have to draw from to act out a scene and how it effects your personal lives. Fabulous interview❣️

I think it's a great idea to have a therapist for support when storylines are traumatic or just trigger an actor's stuff. The body responds to what's real and imagined. It cannot be easy to always regulate the body after repeatedly being in intense scenes.

Maurice, I hope you see this I almost wanted to call you sonny, I've been watching you for so long man I'll be 40 in September and I've been watching you since I was 12 I kind of grew up watching general hospital because my mother watched it but it was the character of Sonny that got me to start really watching it on my own and keeps me watching , anyway I heard what you said about the bed and it kind of rang a bell because honestly brother I've been in the bed for months I've been so depressed so messed up my wife is a classic narcissist who's had a lot of affairs which I've never had she's assaulted me numerous times I've never hit her back she even did the Brenda Barrett thing on me and I had a SWAT team kick my door in for weed I've got so much PTSD or whatever it is I don't know, I just discovered this series of yours , thanks for doing this it's kind of strange to say at 40 but you've been like some sort of hero to me man I've been a lot like sonny, a good guy but complicated , I have taken my wife back through everything many times and we're finally splitting up for what seems like will be the final time and I'm just in a really bad place right now and whatever I have is undiagnosed, I've sought therapy and they gave me pills to kind of relax me and help me sleep but as to whether I'm bipolar or whatever the root is I don't know, my wife is a textbook narcissist who's put me through psychological and emotional torture sometimes I've actually prayed for a heart attack just to escape, not that I would hurt myself but I've wished that it would just happen naturally, I don't know man it's all so tough, thanks for doing this series, I'm going to look through some videos and see if there's something there that can help me somehow, I've been having these anxiety attacks or something I don't know these overwhelming periods Of just overwhelming sadness I'm hanging on by a thread here man

Like my granddaughter watched GH with me And got hooked on it And would tell if I missed a day of GH

I love this episode... im 41 but can relate to Eden so much. I had a younger brother, but I also... grew up with soaps, knots landing, snl, not Disney really. I was the weird awkward girl, haha. I loved to act but was too shy and never got into it, but I totally get what she is saying. Thanks for this episode Maurice. It was very refreshing. For me my out, is running and painting. Being bipolar myself, working out is still my thing. My go to. And painting. Just painting what's in my mind to get rid of the clutter. So fun hearing your son and Eden talking about childhood. Making my son watch because he’s a 13 year old and isolates him self many times from people his age. And we’ll during these COVID times it important for kids to be active and interactive with teen peers his age. He’s a talkative person but like Eden says with adults. Not sure that’s a good thing. ADHD and anxiety are his issues and isolation is a bad thing. He says mom these are rich people who should not have these issues. I said jacob money doesn’t keep anxiety and sadness away. They’re people like you and me. So I think this is a great thing for young people to see. Thank you and Eden I hope that when Cameron’s character die off that you and he can make it only about that time and leave it there when your scenes in the storyline are done. Feeling as though you’ve been stuck in that story and bringing it home is a mentally unstable thing to deal with. Thanks

I think Eden does an incredible job acting as Joss!!!! She stands alone as herself, BUT it's incredible how authentically, as she's been growing up, on the show, she never looks like she's pretending to be a young Carly. She authentically speaks and carries herself so much like Carly, and Laura's portrayal of Carly. it's in the nuances. AND just recently, how she stood up to Esme, her demeanor, mannerisms and most of all the intonation in her voice, sounds like her mom!!!! She speaks like Carly and it's BELIEVABLE!!! BUT yet, she still STANDS IN HER OWN SHOES or SPACE!!!

Wow that was interesting. It never occurred to me that even though an actor is only acting the body can feel the damage as if the person is actually going through something stressful.

I came to see this after seeing Joshua and Eden in a scene together.

I really like your idea about having a counselor for the dark story lines. I know that would have helped you immensely & I think it would help most daytime actors as well. I know money is always tight now on Soaps nowadays but that would really be money well spent.
