I got my eyes on their Automatic Chronograph. I sort of wish they came out with a different dial. It can stand on its own merit without having to look like an AP.
I just recently became aware of the "controversy" of the Aikon. Personally, I think the watch easily stands on it own merits. And even the mere suggestion that ML somehow copied elements of the AP is insulting. The only area that is remotely similar is the face. Yet I've seen that face on other watches as well. So why are people getting their feathers in ruffle? I love my AP and ML equally well.
"Why are people getting their feathers in ruffle?" Because they're boring and unimaginative parrots. So many people just repeat what they hear others say without any objective analysis. It's groupthink pure and simple.
Agreed. Which is a bonus. The bezel also has a nod to the Rolex Airking. I Bluth this 39mm version recently. It’s the least expensive watch I own but I live it. Totally underrated.
This is a good piece to have very similar to the oak, only the trained eye would know if its even considered a homage. I feel this is one in its own right. Well done.
Good looking watch. Royal Oak meets Fluted Bezel Oysterquartz with a hint of Hublot's interpretation of the porthole. The CEO said it was inspired by their 1990s ladies watch the Calypso. I would have preferred a no show case back. I don't need to see the Sellita movement, plus it should make the watch up to 1mm slimmer.
