If he represented Jesus Christ he would have walked out or even have been there knowing who was performing. And they have the Christian music awards so there was no need to be there. It has become all about money and fame instead of Jesus Christ.

@@Keesha_Hardy But what he spread wasn’t the Gospel - it’s a verse taken out of context. We cannot partake in ungodliness and think that the name of Jesus or a Bible verse will sanitise it or us. Because what is this speech even, what does Jesus being the perfect love which casts out fear mean to/in a room full of unbelievers who reject God by their songs and lifestyle and who have gathered to celebrate what they believe mean? Real courage is speaking the truth (perfect love does not cast out fear for those who don’t want or mock God) not this comforting assurance that makes people think they can live in sin and use Jesus as a BandAid or simply just acknowledging of Jesus / God - unbelievers do this all the time even while they are living in rebellion. Courage is preaching the Gospel - great ignorance of what the Gospel is. The gospel is good news because it follows and is the only solution to very bad news - that all men whether they like it or not are sinners and are under the wrath of God because they are living in rebellion to Him and that Jesus has come to save them from their sin. Jesus’ name is not a talisman. If you truly want to claim the world’s stage as your God’s, then do like Jesus and drive out the money-changers from the temple, don’t sit there wining, dining and laughing with blasphemers. And before we go comparing this to Jesus mixing and eating with sinners, remember that the “sinners” Jesus sat with were open to Him and followed Him seeking the way of salvation, some (like Zaccheus) were even repentance - very different from those who mocked him and rejected Him. If he rejected the unbelievers in Chorazin and Capernaum (Matthew 11:20-24) what do you think he would do with a ceremony that was trying to give sodom and gomorrah a run for their money?

I can see how that could seem like a good idea and maybe that's what these artists tell themselves. But it really comes down to money and fame. By signing with the secular labels like all these Christian artists have done, they get the backing of powerhouse studios who have state of the art production abilities, promotion of their music and also are more likely to get nominated for their category for Grammy and such awards. In turn the studios get to access the incredible audience that Christian music draws in and therefore make even more money. If it was only about the gospel to these artists then nobody would care about receiving awards and accolades for the ministry given them only by God's grace and gifting on their lives. But, to each his own and everyone will answer to the Great I am one day.
