As a former Ford parts guy, that “scrap if dropped” is real. I used to get modules, rebuilt, that got tossed by UPS or FedEx…customer would finally get the car in, you’d pull the dash apart, install the new module and it fails right off the bat. Could take 6-8 weeks for a new one according to the catalog. Oh-and those part numbers on the actual part? Not real. Ford part numbers for electronics are so weird. You’ll have an engineering number and a part number and sometimes they get superseded multiple times. It was a pain in the ass to try figuring out modules sometimes. Especially if the catalog didn’t note a supersession.

Yeah the excuse is chips. Well stop putting chips in everything!! I think we could figure out most of these issues.

It's best if you install the tailgate dampener upside down so that dirt and grime doesn't fall into it. Your truck is beautiful by the way.

They pulled the same crap on my Lincoln Corsair. The website advertise the digital readout in the control module but, when I got my vehicle, it did the same thing by displaying it on the screen. Bad bad on Ford pulling such bait and switch.

Ford did the same thing on A/C controls knobs on 21-22 model of the F150 Platinum. I guess they saved a couple bucks on a $80,000 truck. SMDH..........

i should be getting my Mav in about a month or 2 (it's being built), but I'm disappointed to hear they aren't coming with the digital readouts.

Cool beans!!! My Maverick Lariat shipped with the digital HVAC control. Too bad yours didn't, but I think the cost of that upgrade is worth it. It makes you happy. I like the engine cover. So much so that I just placed my order for the required parts. Only I will know it is there, but as you say, it makes me happy. Edit update: my order was cancelled because one or all of the engine cover parts are no longer available. Bummer.

The part number on the back of the HVAC module is called the engineering number, I use that number to cross over to the service part number

Can you share the values you put in forscan that worked? I ordered a 2023 Maverick Lariat Lux Hybrid and I’m assuming if I order this part I can install it and it should work if I have the right forscan values. Is this something you can share?

Oh, the first world problems! Lol I used forscan on my ‘20 f-150 and it is a fairly powerful FREE program! But don’t forget to print or store the factory settings!! Cheers

I just realized you mentioned fairway ford. Not sure if its the same one but I ordered my maverick from fairway ford in Burgaw North Carolina. Mine should be here in november and im super excited for it.

I purchased my MAV four months ago payed way over MSRP, then after I registered my unit online I learn that my dealer is not a participant of Ford rewards program!? Therefore I do not have access to my points. That’s not nice.

Before I pull the trigger on buying a HVAC control module is there anyway you can provide the forscan line and values you used or can it be done by saving my own as built data?

How’s the Digital read out swap going? Everything working ok still? I just pulled the trigger on trying a used one. I work at an auto repair facility that has the Ford FRDS and IDS so I’m hoping if the As-built needs changing I can do so with it. You mentioned forscan, is that used with an android or laptop?

Hey Dave. Paul here in San Diego. I got Maverick Lariat back in March. And I really like it and mine had the temperature gauges. But, I enjoyed watching and learning yours.. Do you have a tutorial on how to use it and the set the settings? I've really never heard of it until I got the Maverick and started reading about people putting cruise control on their XL variant, and another hack, if you change something with forescan, you can double click a certain button on your remote on the Lariat and all your windows will roll down. So anyway, would love to learn how to do it but really don't know much and hope and I can learn from you since I got a little teaser from this last video. Keep up the great work my friend. I enjoyed it

I agree with you that the truck should come as advertised but I'm wondering if maybe they changed it for safety concerns to limit the driver taking eyes off the road and looking down to adjust while driving (just a possibility I thought of). Mine is also lacking the readout on the dials but I personally like seeing it on the touchscreen. This is my first vehicle with a touchscreen and, so far, I'm really liking it. Thanks for sharing your upgrades and ideas through your videos. Keep them coming, sir!
