Looks awesome. The big screen will definitely help with glancing while driving. Also I think the foam goes between the device holder and the dash where the surfaces meet to deaden any vibrations.
Sorry to be offtopic but does anybody know of a trick to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me.
@Jackson Camilo Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Parts that don’t work that well together... story of my life! I think if I put together all the parts I’ve swapped with all the parts that didn’t work with others I could build my own Sxs! Another good vid, you guys are really cranking them out this year. Lol
It truly is nice knowing that I’m not the only one that gets dicked around the shop every single time I try to do something. Always something that doesn’t go as planned!
I ran a bead of black RTV silicone all around where my mount met the plastic on the dash to make it more waterproof. I did this in the front as well where the front two screws go and down along both sides. Then I smoothed it out so it really looks good and seals it up nice.
My shirt arrived today thanks boys. The first thing out of the wife's mouth was what's Skookum? However, I quickly followed with what are you doing out of the kitchen? SKOOKUM!!!!!!!!!
nick it would be nice if you did a collaboration ride with (full throttle offroad)..hes from Michigan too.he also has a 2017 x3 modified to a 2018 and a stage 3 tune kwi clutches..maybe some drag races etc...
All this waterproof talk I see a Snorkel install video in the future. I have a Go Deep Snorket Kit for my Sportsman ATV, probably do the install in the spring. Deep into the snowmobile season now. Hey you want that device as tight as possible so when your hitting bumps it does fall off onto console. This has happened to us and our ipad before. Tight is good boys.
SXSBlog.com, that ipad is gonna generate quite a bit of dynamic loading when you start bouncing around. I'd almost consider taking the dash off and putting some 1/4 x 1" aluminum bar stock under the mounting holes. Tap 1/4"-20 holes in the aluminum and run some 1/4-20x 3/4" screws with fender washers through the device holders mounting holes, through the dash and into the aluminum with some ble lock tight. The aluminum will spread the load of the ipad across the entire width of the mounting location.
Yeah i wish it worked on my samsung tablet....have it on my work phone works awesome. I just use gpx viewer and works decently enough to navigate glamis
Shockin Awesome if you say so lol fire hazard we fixed it. Wait no we didn't. Ok we fixed it. No we didn't. We fixed it this time. Wait they are catching fire again. We fixed it I promise. Then another recall announced. Lol. If that's what you call fixing it :)
Over head mount would have been better right in the middle hook up a rear cam and you can see it easier and less issue with water intrusion. BUT with the roof so low and swung back not much options on this.. a negative for me.. =)
I ended up using a RAM mount I just screwed the RAM mount with nuts and bolts to hold the outer box then bolted the other half of the RAM mount to the plastic of the yxz
