@@zerocal76 💯... That's the difference between being Great and being GOAT... LeBron has eaten as much sh*t as he's served up. You can't even be considered GOAT after Having arguably the worst collapse by any franchise player in finals series, like he did in this one. Jordan had bad games sure... But never EVER... had a bad series out of 51 playoff series appearances. His worst was the 97 ECF vs The Heat going 30.2/8.0/2.6 shooting a hair under 40%, taking them out in 5 games. That's Jordan's "WORST" statistical playoff series ever... 😂. Not a fanboy, just like to point out the massive differences between their playoff performances.
This video should have started with Wade hitting the three in front of the Mavs bench to go up by 15. It was all downhill from there. Still puts a smile on my face to watch the implosion.
It was similar to game 3 of the 2006 NBA finals. Dallas had a huge lead in the 4th. But Miami made a comeback with 8 minutes to go and won to take the series to 2-1 in favor of Dallas. Dallas never regained control of the series.
I like watching him get the inbounds pass and dribbling for 21 seconds then jacking up a fadeaway from 15ft or further on like, three straight possessions
this wasnt a stain on lebrons legacy, he's up there with the greatest. this was a stamp on dirk's legacy. as a lifelong mavs fan i had rewatched this a thousand times and if you watched this game closely without bias, the mavs always had a set play with a lot of options while the heat players were somewhat taking turns while trying to milk the clock, just standing there waiting if the guy who holds the basketball can make his shot.
This series was the best thing to ever happen to Lebron's legacy. It created the illusion that he had a hill to climb, when in fact he had stacked the deck and created a unfair superteam. His next two titles counts as much as any first-option rings in history because of this trick, when in fact the they are no better than Durant's rings in 2017 and 2018. That was KD's mistake. He played brilliantly and won right away with the Warriors (and therefore confirming the deck stacking in the eyes of the public).
Oh yeah the league pre-Curry/GSW was another world lol way more iso ball, less possessions, more midranges, and much slower pace of play. The style of play is a complete 180 from what it is now (whether it’s for the better or worse is up to your personal preference)
This Mavs 2011 championship is one of the most improbable runs in playoff history. Can the franchise repeat their own history and pull off a 2nd improbable run? 🤔
@@criXstreet they lost draymond one game and it’s wasn’t the cavs fault he exceeded the limit of flagrant fouls(16) . Cap on curry being injured fans use the every year they don’t win
For a lot of people this finals is when Bron’s goat case ended. This was the first year of the big 3, he set the expectations sky high, and had a horrible series against an inferior team.
This series was the starting point of the work he put in that made him the top 2 player he later became. It absolutely does not remove him from the GOAT convo. He was 26 here, and got to the Finals at 22 before. Jordan didn’t win a ring nor make the Finals until he was 27.
@@officialthomasjames Jordan also never lost in the finals either. The GOAT debate went straight out the window the moment he got swept by the Spurs in 07'
I'd install Dirk in my car that's how unbelievably clutch this guy was especially in a finals game crunch time when they needed buckets he was him didn't miss a shot of the last 9 mavs points
I was at the AAC watch party and turned to my friend and said they have come back from worse. It was so loud in there you couldn’t hear yourself scream.
Wild to see Wade hardly touch the ball in the final minutes. By far their best closer, but he was too nice to the giant ego...A huge mistake by Dwayne.
Jason Terry came off the bench this season. So the Kidd/Terry/Marion/Nowitzki/Chandler lineup didn't start, but was their main weapon at the end of games. They had the best +/- of any lineup in the league that year. (Three of the next four were different variations of Wade/James/Bosh.) This is because they were able to run a great offense through Kidd/Terry/Nowitzki while also anchoring a great defense in Kidd/Marion/Chandler.
Dallas caught fire, and ran Miami down! I'd forgotten how that went down. Heat were rattled, and Mavs got all the right bounces. Can't blame the officials either. Well earned!
This was the turning points in Finals. Had Dallas not comeback, they would be down 0-2 and pretty much done. Dirk was amazing and took this game over and and singlehandedly the reason Mavs wom the chip!
Just like when Popeye was getting his butt handed to him, he would always eat his spinach and all of a sudden he would do the butt kicking and gaining momentum while at it. That’s exactly how I describe that Mavs comeback. Nowitzki and his team ate spinach that night and they did the butt whooping.
Great era of basketball, Lakers VS Celtics year prior went to game 7, big three forms, mavs run all the way to the title, rise of OKC stars, Spurs last championship run. Alot of people became fans of the sport from these times.
hell no. mavs failed to capitalize after that specific turnover. lebron alone sealed the heat's fate with his constant bricks from 3 in the final minute.
@@enxsty you're not on fire if you blow a 15 point lead with 6 minutes left. Wade was throwing up bricks, Bosh was turning the ball over like a high school player, and LeBron decided to join the bricklayers union with Wade lol.
bruh I was rooting for Dallas in 2011 but watching it now damn MIA just gave the mavs so many opportunities to win this game smh. Bron and wade didn't lead at all. coach spo lowest coaching moment as well. they just needed like two buckets while the mavs were making their comeback. The mavs beat my lakers 😭 still hurts til this day but when they beat heat all was forgiven 😆
Dallas Mavericks: You shouldn’t have done that. (After Wade hit a three to increase the Heat lead to 15 with seven minutes left in Game 2.) Miami Heat: Why not? Dallas Mavericks: Because there are seven minutes left.
I'll say it again. This is in my opinion the roughest road to a ring. Mavs had to beat Kobe's Lakers, Kevin Durant, LeBron, Wade and Bosh. And they pulled through. I think God himself wanted the Mavs to win.
