The battery isn’t what’s suppose to lengthen the flight. It’s a combo between the new prop design creating lift with less work and something to do with the esc or motors or something along those lines. The white one does look dope.

Hey Justine the battery is the same as the original Mavic and they are cross compatible. Extra flight time is thanks to the new electronics in the motor and new propeller. I bought the Mavic Pro Platinum and flew it with the Space Grey Mavic Pro battery.

It’s not the new battery that provides a longer flight time but the new esc’s on the Mavic platinum. The battery is the same as the original one but with a different color.

Honestly, I didn't notice any difference in sound. They both sound about the same, and I've heard many, at different elevations. In my opinion, if this is your 1st Mavic, get the Platinum. If you already have the 1st Mavic, stay with it and buy the new props and battery if you think you have to have it. Either way, you can't go wrong! @iJustine, any chance you'll get a DJI Aerospace unit to test? I think this is the next big thing from DJI!!!

It is not the battery that gives you a few minutes flight time extra: it is the new ESC that does give you a flight time of 30 minutes instead! Please be right in the next (drone) reviews!!!

The Platinum and Pro have the same size battery. Just the new ESC's and propellers allow it to fly 3 mins longer

The battery is the same, just different colour. It’s the new motor and propellers which make platinum fly longer. Hope it can correct your misunderstanding.

I want that now and I just got the spark. The spark is great for me because I live in Long Island, New York. There is places you can’t fly everywhere. If you get the spark, I 💯 percent reccomend getting the fly more package. I didn’t but eventually, I wound up ordering everything that’s in the package.

I believe the difference, in perceived loudness, is actually attributed to the frequencies of the sound put off by the new blades. They create a lower frequency, in a less annoying band. Decibel wise, I think both Mavics are fairly close in level. The new one is just less irritating to the ears and brain.

the mavic doesn't fly longer because of the new battery as stated at the very start, its new ESC's and props are the reason for the increased flight time, batteries are exactly the same :-)

Usually you should put the silver tipped props to the back of the drone and the golden ones to the front, but its not necessary.

I got the Mavic Pro Platinum a couple of days ago. I haven't been able to fly it more than 3 times due to the weather but so far it seems like a very good 1099$ purchase (apart from that it hurts in my wallet).
