4 things will help to playback your footage smoothly, go to the sequence setting and set the preview size to 960x540 instead of 1920x1080. Also, I can see that you are playing back the footage at 1/2 resolution, you change this to 1/4 or even 1/8 which will playback even smoother (but in a lower quality). In addition, USE proxy files, I highly recommend it, I could edit my 4K footages with a normal laptop by using proxy files. Lastly, if you are storing your files on an external hard drive, make sure to use an SSD hard drive it will significantly improve the editing process. Regarding the split of the video, I guess that your video size is larger than 4GB and that you card format is FAT32.

For beginners without software editing you could use RU-vid creator . They have a slow motion and time lapse feature.

Very instructive video. I will use many of your tips and tricks. However, when I think about it... The mavic pro only captures 4k in 30fps max. When timelapsing, you can easily get that framerate much higher, like say 60fps to smoothen everything. It doubles the rendering time, but gives a very smooth looking timelapse!

If your microSD is formatted in FAT32, it cannot store files larger than 4GB. Your first clip seems to stop just short of that mark.

Excellent tutorial. Liked and Subscribed. Been into Quads for 3 yrs and the Mavic is my favorite. My Blade Chroma still takes comparable video though. Thanks for all the tips and explanations.

Hi, yes, the max file size is 4Gb, the same happens if you use a Zoom video recorder. You get the full concert (I'm filming my son's band) but it's split into several files of 4Gb

Perfect timing. I am planning on trying a couple time lapses this weekend. One question. Did you use a ND filter on the camera or did you shoot without one?

That is correct. I did not use an ND filter in this case. I usually do, but I wanted to show how to adjust for lighting with the shutter speed. I should have stated that.

51 Drones I have a question if I may ask. Eight flights I have done and I'm wondering bout my HD signal. Using a note4 and the HD signal blinks. Could it be all the noise from Wifi signals in the neighborhood? Or it's best I check in with DJI. But other than that, all good...

ToDasBest Photography My HD signal blinks most of the time whenI fly around my home. There are a lot of trees, so I'm guessing that has something to do with it. It hasn't affected my signal though.

I always enjoy your videos and learn a lot from them, also If you want to export this time-lapse to your phone what format should you use? I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 and try H.264, H.265 but the phone doesn't read those

Great question, but I actually have no idea, sorry. I would maybe refer that question to a RU-vid creator with a channel named tutvid. Check him out. He actually is pretty good at getting back to people.

If you'd put a WayPoint in there and not left it as just a static flight, you wouldn't have noticed the Warp Effect so much, as the ground does swell in your final version. You'll also get a better effect using TimeLapse instead of just filming, but, horses for courses I suppose.

Hi Gene. It's super easy! Just go to General Settings (the 3 dots), scroll down to "Choose Live Streaming Platform" and then choose the one you want (facebook, youtube, etc. . ) and go from there! Good luck!

You can save a collection of elements (like a bunch of clips, audio, graphics, titles, etc. . .) as one single clip by "nesting" it. Then you can edit it as one single clip.

yeah, I watched a video on that today. I saw how he did what you said but I don't understand how that got you around the restriction of applying that filter to a clip that's sped up. Seems like it would still be an issue. ???

Gary Carter Nope. When you nest it, the software doesn't view it as a timelapse, it works just like a normal clip.

Thanks for the lesson! Question: I find it hard to justify paying $20+ monthly just to edit with Adobe Premiere Pro CC. First what happened to owning software? Second, is there any other software out there, without a monthly subscription, that will get you great results in video editing. Thanks! DB

The Game Colonel Most of the good ones are monthly sub, because there often so many updates, which come free with the sub. It's totally worth it. So many creative options. For a more budget friendly program, I would recommend Cyberlink Powerdirector 15. It's what I previously used, and it's pretty good. You can check it out here:amzn.to/2sFxqXe

Hi. I use Sony Vegas Pro or Magics Vegas pro as it is now called. I produce blu-ray disc with it and find it easy to use. been using it for 4 years. A cheaper version is Movie Studio about £30. same editing engine. just some limited functions.
