I had the great privilege of seeing Mavis Staples perform under the stars at The Atlanta Botanical Gardens, in Midtown Atlanta, during their summer concert series a few years ago. She was Dynamite! I'm glad She & her Family are still appreciated & reconized Music Legends🎸🎤 & not 4gotten. Loved that Prince 💜 also pursued to work with her great musical talent in later years. She has a powerful voice & awesome lady she still is🎙️🎶
Mavis: Bob,I am so glad to see you. Bob Dylan: If you would've marry me, you would have seen me all the time. 😂😂❤️ Mavis Staples is far one of the best singers that ever walked the plant..Earth!
I am So Proud to have Witness History having A Black "President" & I'm Ever so greatful, Thankful & Appreciative to God for letting me Live to Witness President OBAMA & First Lady Michelle & to Witness Having An African American Vice President Mrs.Kamala Harris 😇❤️🙏
I see two males and two females at first and then three females and one male. Did a son/brother sing with them in the beginning and then a sister/daughter replaced him? Does anyone know? Beautiful family and great singers!
Purvis wanted something outside of the music, and Yvonne came in. Purvis was a part, albeit minor, of the Staple Singers even when it was Yvonne & Cleotha providing the backing to Pops & Mavis. He'd join in every now and then.
Yvonne, Pervis, and Cleotha were in and out. Yvonne stepped in when Cleotha married in the 60’s, then when Pervis left to join the military in the late 60’s early 70’s. After he left Yvonne stayed and Pervis rarely joined them at performances, although he attended most of the time.
