There's such a contrast created between Max's shirt + the dark background and the New York lights + his jeans + shiny black shoes + watch + necklace. It's like he's attempting to connect two worlds, the modern and the abstract. It's a really innovative idea!

Okay finally! I was hoping someone else interpreted the same way 😊 I truly loved this cover... I feel like he was making a statement on how the Earth has been turned to concrete cities rather than the beautiful nature in the song! And he was saying that we’re all so disconnected now because of that ‘advancement’ of society... but really this is what we’re all living in and this reality is so different than the beauty that once existed because of all the colonization and ugliness that the song is really a reflection of.... Truly breathtaking! You’re right. And Thanks MAX, loved the song! 🥰

I’m a huge Disney fan and I actually like this. I don’t see it as the same song but as a separate piece of art by itself. Would be sick to listen to this while cruising down the windy paths of a hill overlooking the city.

It looks alot like the traditional embroidery from my ethnic culture, the Hmong people. Alot of those patterns are actually featured in our traditional clothing. But I'm assuming this a bohemian inspired version :) Reminds me of the Sami people too in Scandanavia as well.
