In this video we take a short hike to the Max Delta gold mine. This mine was active until the mid 1940's. It is located within the South Mountain Park and Preserve, a short distance from downtown Phoenix Arizona. Entrance is free to the park and offers multiple outdoor activities, including hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.
Max Delta is about a 1/4 mile from the Alta Trailhead, where the main road curves to the left and heads east. There is a new parking lot at this location. Park here and take the Bajada trail for roughly 100 feet, then hang a left at the sign that tells you to stay on designated trails. NOTE: I do not know if this is referring to staying off this trail, or if they are asking you to not veer from it. Take at your own risk.
Drones are not allowed at this location.
