This is correct. I think Matt Frewer said that the makeup took something like 2 hours to put on each day. The only thing that was done with a computer was the editing. I think Matt Frewer said they'd cut out about 1 out of every 5 frames or something like that, and added the stuttering effects, to make it seem like the "computer" couldn't keep up with the "software", the software being Max himself, of course. I always figured the idea was that Max's ego is so big, it causes the OS to hang up.
4 hours, at least. And the special contacts that he wore for the role were brutally harmful to his eyes. In fact, the contacts severely lacerated his corneas to the point where he needed to use painkillers just to make the hurting stop. That’s why you sometimes see Max Headroom wear sunglasses...he needed those sunglasses so that his eyes could heal.
There was even more Max Headroom stuff online about a year ago but VIACOM came through and wiped a lot of it out. It's been slowly appearing again. I like Max Headroom's CINEMAX stuff too.
Max Headroom himself was actually just a guy in a rubber mask with a fiberglass suit and plenty of video and audio editing. I personally don't so much mind the modern world
Actually they didnt use any 3d modeling. All they did to make max look computer animated was they put a rubber mask with make-up. Then they put a fiber glass jacket to make his clothes look computer animated. I know this for a fact.
they brought starsky and hutch back, the same for the dukes of hazard and the night rider, and did it got any better? No, so please never ever bring max back, because i'm sure that they would fuck that up too. What's next? a re-make of vegas, magnum, streets of san fransisco, kojak, jake and the fat man, rip tide, the green hornet, the saint??????????
