No. It’s possible that Shout Factory could not negotiate the rights to the Cinemax/Channel 4 series. Shout Factory would also have to negotiate the rights to the Coke commercials with whoever currently owns those rights.
I don’t think so. The original creators of Max Headroom were not involved with the pirating incident in Chicago, and the pirating incident was a federal crime, so I don’t think that Shout Factory would be allowed to put footage of the pirating incident on the DVD set. I may be wrong, though.
5 DVDs?!? Really?? I'm watching the show now on Tubi but have only recently discovered there was a tv movie of it before the show. It doesn't seem like that is anywhere to be found. If anyone knows, please let me know. Im really curious about it.
The first episode of the series is a remake of the UK Channel 4 movie with slight differences and actor changes. It doesn't continue into the series, a lot of the dialogue remains the same, though.
I tried to get into this show -- watched all fourteen episodes on CW Seed -- but it was just too dark, depressing, and boring for me. There were bits and pieces I liked -- whenever Max shows up, and Matt Frewer's performance as Edison Carter, and I even liked the side characters Blank and Dominique. All of the elements for a great series was there, I just didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I should have and was actually glad when the show ended as abruptly as it does.
I loved Max but the show... was kinda blah - I gotta be honest. At least the USA pilot was the better of the two. I would love to see more old Max period but yeah this show... ehhhh
