At UFC 276, Max Holloway will face defending UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski in a trilogy fight of historical significance. In this interview with Luke Thomas of Morning Kombat, Holloway discusses his view of what happened in the first two meetings with Volkanovski, how the rivalry has changed him, what might be different the third time around and why this fight is ultimately about legacy.
Holloway also discusses the grueling win over Yair Rodriguez, whether he's experienced any neurological symptoms from damage, why he still believes Jose Aldo is the best featherweight of all time, the beating he handed out to Calvin Kattar, Khabib Nurmagomedov's comments about this trilogy bout, having a third fight with Dustin Poirier and what the difference is between Volkanovski and Israel Adesanya.

Luke's always said he doesn't want to interview fighters that aren't gonna answer his questions & especially not if its over a video call. When he's got a chance to speak to a fighter who's gonna just say it how it is - he's always said he's up for that.

Why does he have interviewing fighters
@Strype13
@Strype13 2 года назад
@@johnwickk99 He always alludes to having had issues getting them to open up in the past -- particularly on his old radio show. He would try to ask them interesting and/or revelatory questions pertaining to upcoming fights and/or their careers, and they would often shell up and refuse to answer many of his questions, essentially just leaving him hanging... and he merely grew to dislike interviewing them altogether as a result of this.

bro... I know y'all are fans of this guy (the interviewer) but coming from other sides of RU-vid I did find his style a bit rude like, Max as a guest should feel FREE to throw his lines and do his thing without restraints by the interviewer. I do appreciate not accepting generic answers, just get the organic answers with organic questions rather than setting up walls like DONT COME HERE WITH MADE UP LINES MAX Like wtf 😂 who tf are u dude?? 😂 Respect to the former champ

I think this interview could have been more interesting after the fight, seeing as they cannot discuss in earnest anything related to his gameplan, mindset and health, but I understand that doing so would decrease its visibility.

Incredible interview, and you asked the hardest question an interviewer can ask or a fighter can answer.

Everytime Khabib gets asked to make a fight prediction... media gets on him straight away for not picking the other guy. You can’t say both are gonna win in a prediction. He was very respectful to Max.

I freaking love Max and Luke is such a great interviewer. I know he hates it but when he has a dance partner like Max he’s fantastic. Good luck Max.

Can’t believe LT is interviewing Max. I thought he is too deep CKB fanboy and his life is designed around them. Maybe he got permission first. Anyway, respect your courage Luke

You must be new, Luke was on the Max train long before CKB was a force in the UFC.

@@NWDB Yes and then he jumped ship. Go watch LT and BC scoring Max VS Volk 1 and 2. Every time Max is doing well Luke tries to downplay it by going off topic or talking about things other than the fight. When Volk is doing fine you can see for yourself

(Joe Rogan voice) Max is ranked 6th in the P4P rankings and Alexander is ranked 2nd in the P4P rankings, this is going to be the most important fight in UFC featherweight history!

Max is a boring repetitive interview, but fortunately from the first minutes it's a great interview from the energy and questions Luke gives while influencing him to say "more". Thank you.

Love Max, but training 4hours a day 5 times a week and then disconnect from MMA, not watch live events or tapes, really didn't help against Alex in the 3rd fight, you have to dedicate your whole life to mma and I think Alex is more dedicated.
