With the narrative director felicekuan on twitter saying "you tell me ;) " when asked if Chloe is alive has me thinking we'll get Bay and Bae choice. I hope so! I'd love to be able to explore both choices! I also spent so long looking at the Lis2 photo of Max and Chloe. I kinda wanted them to go bae ending after the storm game on us BUT if we get the bay or bae choice in this game I really do hope they go into great detail about Max's life, and we get to see Chloe and learn about their relationship and life together. Perhaps Max is at the university for a job and thus they're just long distance at the moment. I just wanna see them together again!
Yes, I feel the same way - I wanna see them together again as well. Yes, I think and hope we’ll have a bay/bae choice and I would also love to hear what’s been going on with the pair of them. For me, finding out about Max and Chloe is one of the most exciting draws of the game and I hope the new story doesn’t distract too much from their story. I especially wanna find out how well they both coped after leaving Arcadia bay and what they immediately went on to do next.
@@therealmr.incredible3179 there were 2 moons in chapter 4 of the original “Life Is Strange” game. At the Vortex Club party, you can take an optional photo of the moons. At the end of the chapter, Mark Jefferson kills Chloe, causing one of the moons to disappear. While I can’t say for certain that Chloe is alive in the new game, it is possible because of the re-usage of the 2 moons from the first game
that has nothing to do with chloe, that was abt the storm. the actual only reference to chloe so far in the trailer is a picture of a dog labeled Chloe #2
The fact that Max can now travel to alternate realities, tells me that we'll probably be able to get the option to decide if Chloe lived or died. Of course, I'm picking the 1st option because I love Chloe, but the 2nd option has me curious too. I love it when games give you those options. ❤
Yes, 1st option for me too! I hope we’ll be given that choice as well or else it’ll feel like the decision I made in the first game meant nothing. I also love having options - meaningful consequential outcomes is one of the things that makes life is strange so special.
Alternate reality jumping gives me atleast hopes we’ll run into possibly the other characters of the franchises atleast briefly maybe theres times were she’ll want to check up on everybody she knew?
Yes both are canon and that’s going to be explained with the alternate timeline plot, or what they’ll do is make Chloe’s sacrifice canon and for those who chose the other ending u can go to the reality where’s Chloe’s alive still I also think racheal has a huge chance in appearing as in the comics max has this exact power and she goes into a reality where Rachel is still alive
Yes, I agree. It certainly looks like it’ll be that way round. I’ll put money on both Chloe and Rachel showing up. It’ll certainly be interesting to see what they decide to show during the upcoming livestream, but I’d wager the devs will probably give the fans reassurance about Chloe and show the game respects the choices we’ve made as players.
Yes, 100% thought of the "what if" parallel universe differing according to one's previous choice. I literally wrote this on another video, that it would be great, not only for "continuity" for all players who chose different but it would also be a great reason why Max would choose to use her powers again, learning that it had rippled effects on the future and try to mend things she was not aware.
From what I've read, Lis4 is gonna be a story from where Max chose to save Chloe over Arcadia Bay. But I don't know how it will end, I wonder if they will end this game with Max going back one more time to change the canon ending to save Arcadia Bay (so that both endings become canon basically)
In the comics, Max does have the abilities to travel to different universes like where Rachel and Chloe are both together, or the version where you chose to keep Chloe alive. But I think the game and the comic are pretty different, because Max found out that she can go to a different timeline 10 years later, and in the comic, she found out that she could do that couple months after the storm.
I truly hope they don’t copy too much from the comics. The Amberprice storyline was an absolute fanservice (once again) for Amberprice fans, and left Max once again abandoning the real Chloe (after promising she’ll never leave her again). I loved the comics, but I hate the story. Deck Nine better not have made Max abandon Chloe again… I would sacrifice the town for Chloe in a heartbeat. In a heartbeat.
This game is the perfect way to reunite Max and Chloe regardless of the choice players have made in LiS but I think that they will keep that in store for a future game
I agree - it’s a perfect way to reunite them and I’m almost certain Chloe will turn up at some point. I can only hope she has a significant role to play and isn’t reduced to a cameo.
Also keep up the hard work on these videos man I know a lot of people enjoy these type of commentary videos such as myself I can see u getting really far on RU-vid.
All I want to know is if she ended up with Warren and if it's long distance or they're still at Acadia Bay while being together or if they just ended up being friends or potentially didn't keep in touch with each other
I just hope she's gotten over the weird geeky teenager-ish phase completely and now she is a fully self assured or at least somewhat self-assured adult because sometimes based on how awkward she used to be it was just really cringe but overall I'm incredibly excited for the whole thing especially considering they got the original actress back that's really cool
For those that want to see more about Max and Chloe feel free to read the Life is Strange Comic series that continues the story after the Sacrifice Arcadia ending
I think I stopped part way through the last 2 issues. This game definitely drew inspiration from it. So there's a good chance that the comics might be canon here. That would be awesome!
Ah yes jumping through dimensions maybe we will get atleast somewhat brief looks at the other characters through the franchises perhaps? Just to show how their lives are
Fr I recognized her right away just hy her voice in general the fact people don’t understand as we get older our facial structure pretty much changes is wild lol
Naaah, choosing your Lis 1 ending in the beginning will mean a lazy and cheap small changes storyline like "ok we add a small dialogue about Chloe if you saved her", that's not it... I truly believe that both parallel worlds in LiS 4 will be of both endings, and we will play as Max that sacrificed Chloe, and we might see her in the other reality, so Max will be conflicted with her powers yet again, she should come to realization that she has no "real" world, she's a "traveler".
Judging by the alternate scenes from LIS2 depending on your ending on LIS1 I imagine this game having both LIS1 endings impacting the story would be probable.
Personally i feel like chloe should be saved till the last episode unless some dlc happens showing chloe so early would ruin pretty much the premise of this new game entirely to me because peope will only rush through to get to chloe
If I had to take a guess, the ending you choose as your ending for Life is Strange 1 is the prime timeline. While the opposite choice is going to be the alternate timeline that Max shifts into. I could be completely wrong, though.
I am hoping when all of use get this game there's is hope could be two chooses from the first game. 1. If you pick to Sacrifice Chole. 2. If you pick Sacrifice Arcadia Bay. The new game better let use pick either these chooses.
Probably what will happen but for saving chloe i would say she should be saved till like the near last episode as if it would pretty much ruin the entire start of this new game or maybe save her for like a side episode
As an artist, i see Max looks just like herself. Her proportions and everything look like the original. I think it's just the art style change that make people say she looks different. Just an opinion.
Surprised your 'worst' game was True Colours. I thought it fit the style of LiS games perfectly. LiS 2 on the other hand.... Don't get me wrong, I love all the games, but that one definitely feels most oddball in hindsight given it's basically superhero babysitting, rather than angsty teen/YA with 'powers'.
Interesting take but not sure how well that would go down with fans - getting Alien 3 vibes. It’s certainly not something I would want. Definitely unexpected though.
Look in my opinion asking which ending js canon goes against the very fabric of life is strange as a narrative based on your choices For me, the bay over bae is canon but I won’t side eye you if you come and say the opposite That’s the beauty of it all Plus, trying to find which of the two is canon doesn’t really make sense narratively because the whole game’s plot is focused towards that narrative peak being a tough choice, if you later canonise the good choice then the whole game’s pathos falls off a school roof quicker than Kate Marsh
Agreed the way i see it is its an entirely different game regardless of the choices in the first game hence the reveal of max’s new friend safi may we get mentions of chloe perhaps but all in all its all revolved around max and figuring out what happened to her new friend personally feel like even if chloe is brought up it’ll just make people want more chloe and just ignore this game entirely
I'm pretty sure the ending where Chloe died is canon. In my experience, in games with multiple endings (specifically ones with direct sequels), the ending the devs clearly put the most effort in to tend to be the canon ones. In the one where Chloe dies, there's several emotional cutscenes with Max witnessing Chloe's death for the last time, tearing up her butterfly pic so she never gets tempted to go back, reporting the guys who were kidnapping girls, and attending Chloe's funeral. Meanwhile the other ending is a pretty quick, uneventful cutscene of Max and Chloe driving off and then fade to black. There's no scenes where they reflect on the friends and family they lost or anything. Plus according to in-game logic, disasters will just keep following them until Chloe dies. And it's funny you bring up Joel from TLOU2 because I think the devs changed Max's face only for this trailer, so the reveal at the end that it's Max is more surprising to us. (I didn't realize it was her until the end too, even though her name was said a few times in the trailer. They went over my head lol)
Yeah, her name went over my head as well! Ha. You make a lot of good points - there’s certainly a final destination thing going on with Chloe during the game but I got the impression that the storm put an end to that. I get what you’re saying about the endings - there’s also a butterfly that lands on Chloe’s coffin. Thing is - it’s a choice based game and as such the players choices should be respected. If they’re not, their choices mean nothing and it defeats the very purpose and point of the game.
i dont have high expectations from lis double exposure tbh... lis1 had so many twist and turn and so did lis 2 which was made by dontnod and deck nine is just making "murder mystery" in the name of lis like they did in true colour which story was too simple and boring and this list also seems same
Well why dont they get the comics with max but 90% of the story is about someone else like they said its max and chloe but it was a rachel fandic. The game will be the death of max and chloe and the lis franchise will be dead for me
