Kellerman knows just about everything in the history of modern boxing. He remembers names of winners and losers in past 20 to 25 years. He is a worthy successor to the late great Bert Sugar.
@@johnk3841 Floyd has 5 division titles. Not 3. Manny won his 7th division title against Cotto at a catch-weight of 145 and a no rehydration clause attached (could not rehydrate over 150). Cotto had taken a beating against Margorito and looked like crap against Clottey (a fight many people felt Cotto lost). The fight was stacked in Manny's favor. Manny's 8th division wasn't even a real division against Margorito. Margorito had been destroyed by Mosley and was coming off a year suspension. Freddie refused to let Manny fight Mosely right after that unless it was at a catch-weight of 142. Margorito wasn't ranked at 154 and they fought for a vacant belt. To top it off it was at 150. When the true lineal champ, Sergio Martinez offered to fight at the same weight, Manny high tailed it out of the division. I'm not saying Manny hasn't done impressive things in boxing but the way people scrutinize Floyd but praise Manny is hilarious. Manny had a marketing machine behind him and his biggest fights were orchestrated to ensure a win to keep the hype and money train going. It's all verifiable with simple searches that people are too lazy to do. Look at the records of Morales, Oscar, Hatton, Cotto, Margorito, and Mosley before fighting Manny. They all have the same thing in common. They got beat and in some cases destroyed, had a shitty return bout and then fought Manny. I get that he's small but his biggest wins were stacked by Arum because he wanted to keep his money train. It's smart business but also blinds fans from the truth. The biggest highlight of how far Arum was willing to go to keep Manny making HIM money was when Manny was robbed against Bradley in his last fight on his TR contract in 2012. In order for Manny to get a rematch he had to re-sign with Top Rank. Atlas even said, "when you go against the power broker Bob Arum, funny things tend to happen". 🤣 Manny is a great fighter but a lot of things have been done to keep him winning. Yes. Manny moving up the way he did was awesome. I do think accomplishments like that are definitely are solid case, but I also think that you can actually look at a fighter's skill set, and if you do THAT, it aint even close. Footwork, angles, defensive tactics like deception, feints, bob and weaving, slipping, pull counters, shoulder roll, precision punching, etc. By a mile, Floyd is EASILY the best boxer of his generation. Nobody else is THAT technically sound. Manny never had the wide array of skills like that. What he did have was a way of simply overwhelming opponents with a barrage of punches.

Max is dead on with this. Manny Pacquiao is hands down the greatest Boxer of all time. He had a 5 year run that was devastating, that had you're hero Floyd shaking in his boxing shoes. Manny started his career at 112 freaking pounds. What he has done will never be repeated in anyone alive today's lifetime. Not for a moment am I taking away how great Floyd is, I just dont think he was as great as Manny. Rodrigo Dela Rosa There ar so many weight divisions that record is not that impressive. Not compared to Henry Armstrong. Back when there were only 8 divisions. No super this, jr. that. No 4-5 different belts. You were either feather weight, light weight, or welter. Armstrong held all three of those title simultaneously. Never been done since. He was close to adding a fourth when he fought middle wright. Not impressed with todays alphabet soup belts and weights.

If Floyd had beaten prime 147 guys like Cotto, Margarito, P Williams, then he would have been regarded much more highly. Manny moved up and didnt duck anyone. Floyd faced a retired Oscar, Mosely 16 months after he beat Margarito and no fight inbetween, waited til Manny was KOd by Marquez.

At last i have seen someone saying this, great post. I also respect Floyds Olympics style of boxing, it maybe a boring style for a casual fan but i do appreciate it. My problems with Floyd is not just he waited Pac for years, damn with him and his followers for their BS reasons about testing. Floyds defense before offense is really effective and it always give him the upperhand. Sadly, and i am speaking as a boxing fan Floyd did not took the opportunity to clear the division in his prime. Manny is "TBE" here is why..A record doesn't mean much due to cherry picking if Floyd couldn't pick his opponents he WOULD have loss a few.. it's more about the damage done to your opponent as a result of your offensive and defensive fundamentals. .Floyd had a great chance at being the best but we know it's not how you start it's how you finish and towards the end of his career he started cherry picking (berto???) and never does damage to his opponents ( this is boxing not freeze tag you can't be the best with your opponent looking unscathed after the fight) he would be better if he did more damage and more viscous counter punching but he doesn't so he's arguably running.. Ali ( is the greatest but not the best ) took way to much damage and never really looked unbeatable at any point..but he is great for all he overcame and accomplished..His claim to fame was defeating foreman who beat the breaks off Ali and himself simultaneously while Ali showed true resiliency and prevailed.. Manny also fought a foreman (margarito) and killed him on his feet margarito was a dead man walking..No one leaves the ring with Manny unscathed! opponents say "it's like fighting an octopus". he Jumped countless divisions to continuously challenge himself..Had Floyd "TBE" ducking for 5 years and falsely accusing him of being on steroids making countless excuses of health being on the line.. well, THATS WHAT SHOULD BE SAID ABOUT THE BEST IN HIS PRIME ..and don't tell me about there bullshit fight, that was nothing more then sparring Manny said it himself "I feel like I won" ( showing mayweathers lack of dishing out damage..when the best beats you, you know you loss you feel defeated or at least enough to not say you think you won) Manny is like the great Mike Tyson but more rapid..( Mike could have also been the best but 1 punch knockouts don't really show talent it shows domination and the way he finished was less then great) Manny has challenged himself more then any other boxer and that can't go without recognition..He gives an instant "size" advantage to most opponents but his arsenal of speed,power,and will overcomes any obstacle..after being knocked out cold he's bounced back and showed true resiliency.. AFTER LOSING TO FLOYD, THE SELF PROCLAIMED TBE WILL NOT GIVE HIM A REMATCH..ASK YOURSELF WHY NOT WHEN IT WOULD BRING HIM 300 MILLION!!!!
totally agree, mayweather also lost at least 2 times, one to Castillo and one to maidana. Mayweather is a joke. I've never been impressed. He obviously didn't dominate paqiou. I will never regard mayweather amongst the best. The best don't duck fights, run, or leave an opponent unscathed. the best, dominate, take chances and overcome, win many divisions, fight best boxers.

Floyd's greatest skill as a boxer is ability pick his opponent when he the maximum advantage to win. Location, wieght, age...Mayweather waits until he knows he has the guy beat, then fights him.

@@rodneygreen3574 Canelo was young and inexperienced, he also wasn't used to the big show yet nor had he hit his prime. He dodged Manny for years and finally fought him when he was older and worn out. It's not hate, it's an accurate observation. It also shows the sheer intelligence Mayweather has at understanding his opponents and when to strike. It's a legitimate skill to have.

Floyd has skills that won't repeated ever or for a long time. One of the Best! Pacman did something no one ever did in Boxing History and went onto claim 8 Division Titles!!! PacMan came from the gutters to the ring, he never backed down, never gave an excuse, and never dodged a fight. Both Great Fighters in their own right. Both created a Visual Masterpiece for us to watch for many years to come. But PacMan gave us the Love, and True Spirit of a Champion. His Legacy will be cemented deeper in Boxing longer than Floyd's...

Manny is a warrior. At 40 yrs of age he goes toe to toe with a young primed undefeated World Champion and Wins!!! That for me makes him the GOAT.
