"The final gunshot was an exclamation point to everything that had led to me at this point. I released the finger from the trigger" Couldn't have been anything else written so beautifully !
The ending, the music, and Max walking slowly really made me feel so satisfied when every painful moments have finally ended. One of the most glorious game endings I've ever experienced. Games like these will be seared in my mind my forever
Wow, what a masterpiece. its ashame we dont get games like this anymore. I mean come on, when you play games like this, you can almost feel the soul of the game.
@@squiddokez seriously can’t wait! Hopefully it creates new fans to the point that we get a fourth installment but if we don’t get the third ended with him closing all ties it’ll still be amazing. 😊
@@zherean42069 Back in the day you could rent games in videostores. It was a normal thing to do. Every kid used to rent games. It's a 80s and 90s thing. Beginning of 2000 also. You understand now?
@@Chilihead213 lmao sometimes it used to happen when the product inside the case was different from what's written outside. I once tried to buy tomb raider I think and got grand turismo cd in the case.
That's a final what a lot of games just need to do, a simple and clear final, no desnecessary final fighting, no melodramatic ending, just clear and resolved, is so satisfying see him concluding his revenge...
The past is a gaping hole. You try to run from it, but the more you run, the deeper, more terrible it grows behind you, its edges yawning at your heels. Your only chance is to turn around and face it. But it's like looking down into the grave of your love, or kissing the mouth of a gun, a bullet trembling in its dark nest, ready to blow your head off.
You can actually 'kill' Horne on top of that dark stairway if you use a sniper rifle. As soon as she opens the door to spray you with Ingram, shoot her. It gives you that nice animation with rifle bullet flying and when it hits her, it looks as if she is going down to the ground. The level continues normally though, I think.
So iconic. Impacted narrative games for decades to come. Etched James McCaffrey's voice into every gamer's head. James, there will be no one like you ever again! Heaven has now the best narration.
He had to eventually. It wouldn't make sense holding on to the past all your life. It's a bit silly yes, but in the end, it all worked out for him. A lot of people, hardcore fans especially, seem to complain about the film adaptation though. I'd still watch it either way, even if it's not all that good. It's a decent flick at best, in my opinion.
In Brazil he at least save Giovanna and Passos and Da Silva was there to avoid the final gunshot you could say that everything that he couldn't in the first 2 game he got it in the third one The feeling of save a live involved with him
@DRIVER Thank you, I'm getting tired of people saying 3 doesn't deserve to be part of the franchise. They don't seem to realize that the whole point of the game is Max forgiving himself and letting go. That scene where he walks down the beach with the sun setting down is by far my all time favorite moment in any video game because you know that after all the struggles and hardships he finally has closure and can lead a peaceful life. The only thing that could've made the 3rd game better is if it were called "The Rise of Max Payne" since it feels suitable knowing that 2 was "The Fall".
@@trixterplays975 the film adaptation is a bit odd. why would the main antagonist of the game become a supporting character? thats just stupid. clearly the movie creators either didnt play the game, or they did but didnt pay any attention.
The ending of this game has some similarities to ending of GTA III. Killing a female villain in her helicopter... And both games were released in 2001. Strange.
4:01 - "What do you mean he's unstoppable? You are superior to him in every way; You are better trained, better equipped, you outnumber him at least twenty-to-one. Do. Your. Job." Best. Line. EVER.
@Dave Hanson Yess bro, I was so emotional after ending of this game because Whole day and night in my childhood I always thinks about how to clear this level or that level.
well the guys he killed were mostly mobsters from the punchinello crime family, and he was mostly pursued by police because of the murder of alex balder, and dont forget max payne took a sex tape with candy dawn from alfred wooden's office just in case if wooden did not keep his promise.
08:17 "They where all dead, the final gunshot was an exclamation mark to everything that had led to this point i released my finger from the trigger and then it was over".......
I loved this game as a kid. The guns in this game were so cool. Hearing the music at 8:08 was such a shiver in my veins and it felt great. The dish of revenge served on a cold night, BY MAX PAYNE!!!
Fantastic game. A true classic. But I was always left feeling a little empty at the end. A more up close and personal kill was always what I wanted. But you can’t have everything
Fun facts about the cast and developers (some of them are common knowledge, others are not): Petri Järvilehto is one of the founding members of Remedy. He left in 2011. Tuula Järvi (Nicole Horne) is Sam Lake's mother. Markku Järvi (Alfred Woden) is Sam Lake's father. Teemu Järvi (Virgilio Finito) is most likely Sam Lake's brother. He works as a designer and illustrator for wildlife nad nature. Peter Hajba, who worked on sound design and animation, composed the music that plays in the club Ragna Rock. It's called Corruptor and he released it under his stage name Skaven. Kärtsy Hatakka, one of the soundtrack composers, is the vocalist of a prolific Finnish metal band, Waltari. Marko Saaresto (Vladimir) is Sam Lake's long time friend and the vocalist of the band Poets of the Fall, who have been collaborating with Remedy for over 20 years now. During Max Payne's development, the band didn't exist yet and Marko worked as a graphic designer, which makes sense with his credits as the artist behind the Captain Baseball Bat comic strip. Olli Tukiainen (Vinnie Gognitti) is the guitarist of Poets of the Fall. For some reason, he is not credited as a graphic novel model. Markus Kaarlonen, who did sound engineering in this game, would later be recommended by Sam Lake to Saaresto and Tukiainen as the two started working on Late Goodbye for MP2. The three would later go on to start Poets of the Fall. Carol Kiriakos (Mona Sax) works as a writer coach and psychologist. Jani Niipola (Alex Balder) also works as a writer and is the director for Fashion Finland. Aki Järvilehto (B.B.) is an experienced executive in software and game companies, which is probably why he received the special thanks in the credits. Rami Lehtimäki (Jack Lupino) works as an interior architect. Aki Saariaho (Joey Finito) is a philosophy teacher in Espoo. He was a Green party candidate for Espoo in 2021. No official source for this, but I remember Sam Lake mentioning how a lot of models for the game were his neighbours, friends, relatives and even his janitor.
Time when games was fun not the interactive movies and the lost in wilderness stuff of today. This game still gives me goosebumbs, emotions and a nostalgia of old good times tapping the mechanical keyboard keys , playing in CRT monitors. How time changes. Loved and still love this game.
Alternate ending(3 years ago) Max came to his house in New jersey Max:Honey ,I'm home, hello?anybody home? (Phone ringing) Caller :Is this Payne residence? Payne:No!!!!! (Phone disconnected) (Killer gone) Payne family have a happy ending And last forever,i guess
more like, alternate ending, Max's colleague: "hey max wanna go for a drink after work?" Max:"na gotta go home to the baby" later..... junkie: flesh of fallen angels Max: "what the fuck? *shoots* Max: "the fuck was that?" directed by george Lucas
Last of us 2 wasn't about revenge it was about letting things go you can't change the past you have to move forward if you don't bad things happen to you or the people close to you that's exactly what happen in max payne 2 LA Noire life is strange games and the insomniac spider man
7:07 Freeze frame and cue music: “Max Payne, age 31, gave himself up to the authorities after the incident. He is now serving a life sentence.” Roll credits
I just finished playing it on the PS2. It was extremely glitchy for me as well. The hardest part is aiming. Even knowing what to do, I still can't shoot that god damn wire through the iron barred door.
That's one way of doing it. I always shot the last wire from the ledge where you shoot the first one. The first time I played it, I shot the tower repeatedly with a colt commando, which does work. But after I used the M79, I stuck with that. One shot and mission complete.
One of the things I like about the games is that Max never kills an innocent person, despite him calling himself no better than the criminals he's killing, he still never hurts anyone who wasn't involved in one way or another, and he never kills a cop either, at least from what I can remember, the UFE doesn't count, because they're basically just mercs.
Max almost killed an innocent person Winterson when he killed her it wasn't self defense it was for Mona he didn't know she was dirty until he heard her message at vlad place
RAYAN video ريان فيديو what r u crazy there's more best games I think u haven't play that games play it and u will understand the meaning of the best bro.
I'd love to see a modernized version of this game. No changes to dialogue. No extra levels. No fucking achievements ("You Killed 50 Guys!", No shit). Just the same old game with good damn graphics.
