you mean it was for the first time ever when they used his voice actor's own face as the base model in the game. Jim Mccaffrey voiced Max Payne from the first game, but it wasn't until 3, when they finally used his own face for the base model of the character
I really like how Pasos buys max a drink and next thing what, happens is that he dances with some girl and tells her that "max is buying" lol. It's the subtle humor with tone of seriousness.
One of my favorite parts of this masterpiece is how they leveraged visual flair in order to immerse us into the role of Max. Another thing they did was add a bright white light to punctuate when he is hurt; white light is the color people associate with pain. Or how about how they show certain quotes of characters to represent the things people say as thoughts floating around in Max's head? Genius.
If im not mistaken, most of those effects during cutscenes are to hide the game loading in the background. One of the things this game was prouud of was its lack of loading screens.
@@thomasraines1396 Anthony DeMarco did a poor job in grooming Tony for the life. Even Sal Marcano did a much better job, considering Giorgi is a tough opponent in his own right.
Sadly, very few people even know what the Hell you're talking about. It is truly lamentful how few have played the proper games. And yes, I call them proper games, because Sam Lake didn't write Max for 3. It's not Max Payne. He may have the voice and the face, but it's like a cutesy Battle-Pass skin in some trite Battle Royale game.
Game studios are obsessed with making games feel like movies, but nothing walks that line between game and cinema better than this game. Rockstar and Remedy really aced this.
Remedy actually did not work on this one like 1 and 2 it was rockstar and the rockstar company that made bully I think, but this is really just a masterpiece you are 100 percent right
@@mi-chaelkruger1194 some of the employees of remedy also helped but this was made by rockstar games not only rockstar Employees did this some of others of remedy also helped
1 and 2 were great games, but man was 3 a fucking masterpiece, the narrative, max’s fucked up views on life just waiting to die and making chaos along the way. Props to this underrated masterpiece.
@@esseker6320 i wish this game was remastered or a new ip with max payne gameplay was made. I know gta v and rdr2 has the same gameplay but max payne 3's bullet time ragdoll and enemy variety was way better. The only problem is that a remaster or new ip wont sell well
"I've been sitting in the bar for 3 hours or about 5 years, depend on how you look at things. I tried not to look at things." instantly became the best description of my life i've ever heard. It's my description in almost all my social medias ever since.
I guess by that I meant that it didn't it get a release or backwards compatibility on newer consoles. It came out near the tail end of the 360/PS3 life cycle and I feel like it got missed by a lot of people who didn't get a chance to play it on PC later.
The joke that Max payne does about the gorillas doing the Echo of their boss reminded me of Jimmy Hopkins doing the same joke with the Jocks when facing their boss Ted.
I love Max Payne 3 but continuity wise to the rest of the games - he’s got the highest lobster body count ever, he fought the Mafia, government agents, corrupt corporate private armies and mercenary groups over two games - but killing the kid of another mob boss forced him to flee? 🤨
Morse Code He didn't leave because of guilt. He left because the mob boss would continually hunt him down until death. It's strange because Max has gone up against more dangerous more powerful opponents. So why would this one drive him out?
140694 1994 I've no idea. In the game he says that he left because he was dead on that town. But like you said, this ain't the first time he's gone up against a mob boss. Idk maybe he just didn't feel like going through all that again. He didn't know he'd be going on a killing adventure in Brazil
I play games since 2000. I was, and still I am attracted by stories and well written characters and dialogues. It was never been very much for me to play online games, where players are often acting uncultivated. When Max Payne 3 came out in 2012, I was nicely surprised because I get the game I always desired. Today is 2021 and it is a big pity that the game industry was mainly focused on money, unfinished games, pink, green, blue skins, ridiculous brightly colored characters, weapons, multiplayer and more screaming children and the like. From my part, online games are getting more to resemble color gambling automats(gambling machines if you like). I expected the evolution of the gaming industry that it will be more focused on games such as: Max Payne, Alan Wake, Last of Us etc. So I speak through RU-vid and this commentary a wish. I wish that single player, the story and perfect game mechanics returned back to the front of the game industry.
The moment when your acceptance of 1 offer to buy you a drink changes the whole picture and story of new jersey and half brazil , just think of it for a second ,the story of the game is so good ,really :)
Holy shit I played this game as a kid and now when I'm an alone man living on my own it hits different, and I don't even play games anymore. At at certain point life becomes this.
When max Said "From that moment I was dead in that town" but we all know that isn't true max could just kill everyone and disband another mafia family but he was tired so decided just to move to another country
I wonder how long everyone hesitated before shooting Tony. I know I did, for a couple of seconds. Don't get me wrong, hitting a woman is horrible, but to shoot a guy in the heart for it, even if he's a mob boss' son? Pretty crazy. Max must've been pretty blasted by that point. P.S. It's kinda funny that those guys decided to mess with Max. "Hey, this is the guy that single-handedly shot and killed hundreds of gangsters and trained professionals by himself! LET'S FUCK WITH HIM"
When this game 1st game came out I hopped straight to the online portion & then I went to the campaign afterwards 😅 honestly this was the first Max Payne game I’ve played & I love it lol
Linear is fine when the gameplay and storytelling is as high quality as it is in Max Payne 3. The shooting in this game is so fluent and weighty that i don't think it has ever been topped.
I'm dying to know what they can do, especially with the PS5 on the horizon. Oh Max Payne, how i adore this franchise. Its a staple to my childhood, i was like 7 or 8 years old when my older brother put me on Max Payne. Good times.
