For anyone saying this isn't no damage link me a time when there is damage on the healthbar that's avoidable. The damage in Chapter 2 helicopter is unavoidable as well as the dmg to the boat in Ch5, the dmg to the bus in Ch10. The dmg in Chapter 11 at 3:08:10 after turning on the vents is also unavoidable, even though I might've taken an unregistered bullet afterwards!
i played it on highest difficulty back in the day never done no damage and would take hours per level , but by the end you knew exactly how to dive and exactly what order to take them out
The best part about Max Payne, his character, is he's pretty humble. Not false humility, and not arrogant. He admits that he might have been duped, doesn't really get defensive and try to justify it, just owns it. It's nice seeing a character that doesn't know everything. I hate how most main characters in games and movies somehow know everything, see the tricks from a mile away, always one step ahead of everyone. It's great seeing a realistic type of guy who's as vulnerable as the rest of us.

There's a cutscene skip at a couple points, including 01:59:00 where the player nods the camera after max says "another life lesson I didn't want" which made me chuckle, I forget what that scene is it's been a while since I've played.
@@DanieL-tv7or they’re both jaded to the world, both lost their wife, both are professional killers and badasses, and are both one man armies. only thing different is their personality. john just happens to talk a lot less, is more nonchalant, and a lot better known among the people in his line of work
One thing I've always appreciated about these games was the writing. The dialogues, and especially the inner monologues, are up there with the likes of Chandler. Imagine saying "I belonged there like a pearl onion on a banana split" in Max's voice, and you'll understand what I mean. True hardboiled.
What an accomplishment...so impressed. It pains my soul how this game has never gotten a next gen version and why is it not put on a pedestal with the likes of Resident evil 4 and GTA. I just dont understand. I keep my Xbox 360 slim just for this game and play it every 3 months or so. Must have finished it 10 times it never gets old. I appreciate your awesome work.
@@NN-ix9wf plus how the cutscenes constantly switch your weapons and force you into awful cover, how the shootdodging and the cover system don't integrate smoothly together, how the game's ragdoll system loves to dick you over during last man standing moments, how the game was built on an open world engine that has load times in excess of a minute on the consoles at the time, need I go on?
I remember going to the 12 AM Release for this game at GameStop. I got the CE, I had fun. The cashiers didn’t understand how legendary Max was, but the people I talked to in line were long time fans as well. I also got a real chuckle when you’re leading Giavanna through Chapter X and go up the stairs, and you had your crosshairs aiming and she asked, ‘why are you aiming at me?’ You just wanted to shoot her sometimes and have to reload your save! Lol. Awesome LP, I haven’t played 3 for at least five years. I wish the trilogy was backwards compatible on XBO. 👍

Wow, i am impressed, you really didn't took any damage, didn't take cover at all and didn't use much bullet time too. I tried the hard difficulty, take cover a lot and used a lot of bullet time but i still kept dying restarting many times.
Damn, I can only imagine the stress you had to go through when making this video since Hardcore is very challenging let alone barely taking any damage. 😅 Anyways, big props to you for managing to pull it off! 🤙🏻

amazing gameplay! i love no damage run because it fits the narative. Max is supposed to take damage only in the cut scene. btw, is there a way to turn off the golden gun skin? they really look taggy and take away the immerssion in an otherwise an immersive gameplay
Max payne 1&2, GTA SA, VC, 3, need for speed series, resident evil, and metal gear solid, were games that i basically grew up playing and still have the original copies, you have similar taste to me i have insomnia too so i just watch your playthroughs WHICH are great by the way and very entertaining and always have me laughing. 👍 much love 👍
It would be nice to just let Becker to die slowly since he always trash talked Max during the fight and yet begged for mercy after he got turned into burned pastrami (I did that in my first playthrough) and seeing Victor cried like a baby after Max broke his leg was the most satisfying part.
i don't care about few shootdodge bullets - they never registered as damage or never could kill the player since first game it's great to see a smooth gameplay actually looks like max being a crackshot despite old age

whenever i finish a game on the hardest difficulty, i always look up gameplay and laugh at the insanity that is no damage runs and how long it took me to finish 1 section

Is anyone gonna point out that at 3:08:16 he took damage and he had a bullet hole near his right shoulder to prove it but I dont blame him he was gonna get shot either way when there is 2 enemy shooting at him at both side at the same Time but none the less the gameplay was insanely impressive good job
It seems so. But I replayed that part a few times and you get that bit of damage on the healthbar every time, from the explosion. So it's impossible to do that part without getting damage. You can check In Love's old school no damage video and he/she also got damage in that part. Thanks!
