it really hurts how there's almost no talk about this game. everybody be talking about GTA and other shit while this game takes only like 30% of R* fandom. this game has one of the best stories I've ever seen and I think it would be much better if they closed the game as a trilogy. I'm pretty sure that if they made max Payne 4 it wouldn't stand out. sometimes stories should just end with the protagonist finally getting to chill after 20 years of hell.

That was a great move, when you got no ammo you were obligated to shoot with laser sights guns, making it difficult but necessary

tommyzaso I agree with that. I would use the laser sight but i would usually be a few inches off from the enemy. By then i would get shot and lose health plus i had wasted bullets too. I avoid those guns at all costs

Fucking TEARS by HEALTH!! Under different circumstances, this song would be depressing as hell, but here, it's PERFECT, shooting out corrupt militia while jumping around like an action movie star!! I need this game. It might not be a good Max Payne game to some people (no nightmare levels, no graphic novel cutscenes, no New York, Max is fatter and he shaves his head, etc.), but on its own, it looks like a solid and amazing experience to play through.

I just noticed that this game is the first & the only Max Payne game does not feature any graphic novel cutscenes & nightmare levels like the first 2 games maybe becuz this game was released in 2012 so rockstar tried to make this game more realistic than its first 2 predecessors

The part where HEALTH starts playing is quite possibly my most favorite scene in the game. Doesn't matter what difficulty I'm playing on, I run through that bitch spraying from the hip, rolling to cover only when I need to and spraying everything in sight like my life doesn't matter. I feel like that part of the game is almost designed for you to just mow through everyone because the AI's aim is dogshit and it's supposed to empower and immerse you in the John McClane character that is Max Payne. I get goosebumps every time this part shows up.

A Max Payne 4 for me is very useless, in my opinion the plot is complete as well as good as hell, the protagonist now can go on with a better life, following what he wants without his past torturing him. Max Payne is masterpiece of Gaming History, an Epic trilogy that will be remembered forever, a closed Masterpiece. everything has a start and an end, greatest literature, movies, tv, and gaming trilogies are like this. MHH MHH: LOTR, Breaking Bad etcetera... The only thing that i want from Max Payne is a totally remastered of the first two games, and a Porting of the 3 on on the newest consoles, and maybe some citation in other games. I prefer a brand new game with a brand new story and protagonist, with some reused elements of Max Payne (like Bullet Time and Shootdodge), instead of a surely inconsistent and dumb Max Payne 4...

Really? The Warriors on a higher place than Max Payne and L.A Noire? Dude, are you on crack or something? L.A Noire had a version for new consoles, besides a VR version. Max Payne got this incredible third part. Manhunt at least got a sequel, which apparently was too brutal so it got censored. I think The Warriors deserves like the 10th place, or something. Probably right after that table tennis game.

When I was walking with a game disk back in the day I thought to myself that Max is probably going to die, but oh boy I was wrong. By finally making a difference of saving Giovanna and her and Passos's unborn child Max was finally able to let it go and move forward. Possibly the only game I don't want a sequel of. Remakes of first two, sure but not MP4. I want Max to remain... relatively happy

after this came out on xbox 360 and finished it, i thought it was a garbage game. but now that I have played it on pc with a mouse and 100 fps with everything maxed out, all that i can say is WOW. I played MP 1 and 2 on the hardest difficulties, and in those games all you had to do was memorise enemy placement. It was a walk in the park in comparison to this, where ammo management and bullet time use are key. GG rockstar!

I finally beat the game on Old School! Talk about difficult! I feel like i had accomplished something meaningful lol. Also i had just realized that you can shoot Becker right in the face towards the end of Max's monologue when he is staring down at his armless body. That was also satisfying🤘

i didn't notice right away that you actually starts with 2 guns. the thing that frustrates me before i realized that was i keep running out of ammo before i can even grab the downed enemy's gun. i also hate the beginning particularly the upstairs because there isn't much room to maneuver since it's a narrow footbridge. that part was actually a lot harder for me than the very last gun battle.

hiawa23 Thats because you suck and dont know how to properly use shootdodge and cover. Also use your painkillers wisely and shoot the enemies before they spread out and surround you

It's certainly possible. I can think of two very hard parts on hardcore, the Panama level (when you are on the deck with the glass sides facing the shore) and the end of the Airport level. Well, maybe the fight with Bachmeyer as well. There are two main tricks to it which some might consider cheating tho: 1. When blindfiring Max ALWAYS hit the exact middle of the screen, even tho there is no crosshair. So you can basically headshot people from behind cover. 2. When doing the bullet jump thing, Max is basically invincible. If you have two cover points you can throw yourselves between, you can just keep doing that until everyone's dead.

If your having real trouble right at the start go up the stairs and trigger the guys to come out, then kill the first one, walk back down the stairs and go into cover in the room under there, the left side is bullet proof glass and the right can be shot through (just make sure none of them are running over there or else you might die) its much easier than trying to peek past the door that you cant go into cover at the top of the stairs.

Single-handedly one of the greatest endings to a character in gaming. Max Payne 3 is undoubtedly the most underrated R* game. The story, the music, the gameplay everything about this game is top tier yet not a single person ever talks about it. If you’ve never played this game I envy you it’s that amazing of a video game

I loved Sleeping Dogs, but I don't see how Max Payne compares, he barely fights. Would be more like True Crime. R* let me down with GTA5, but I hope that'll be a one time thing. With all that revenue, they better not let with GTA6.

Just finished the game, so you can't kill Victor Branco? i was just thinking he was behind the play of killing his brother, he acted like fake his voice when he talked to Max, no achievement if you kill Becker, but when you do, an achievement i got, nice game! verry badass!, Awesome ending song too.

Could you tell me how you can get 9 painkillers to that final stage ? The maximum you can get there is 5 in hardcore and with no hit, have you playing in the cheating mode?
