Duration has a lot to do with it as well. That was 8 g's for about 2.5 seconds or less. Not enough time to put many people to sleep. Still she was a trooper for sure.
No kidding.... its amazing to think they can handle and recall the knowledge of flying it, do it, handle the communications and navigation and maintain a conversation with that young lady like its absolutely nothing

Well doesn't take long going 674 feet per second. That was 400 nautical miles per hour give or take converts to 460 miles per hour converted to feet per second. Would be about 11.8 seconds from 2000 to 10,000 right?
Man what a ride, my dad was a crew chief for the thunderbirds at Nellis AFB for a few years and couldn’t even get a ride now the media and movie stars get to go up
Fortunate enough to get incentive rides in a T-38, an F-4, and then an F-15 right before I retired. Im a GA pilot so the pilot let me 'take over' for a bit. Kid in a candy store.

Women are built to take lateral g’s better than men. It is in their nature and body construction. Some have realized that and have become great Pilots in our Military. My cousin received the Purple Heart when she rescued a small team of Black Ops in one of the wars during the 1990’s

When medically tested, the male body is capable of handling roughly 0% - 33% more G force than the female counterpart. Meaning it ranges from no difference at all to males being better suited to handle G forces. This is well known.
I’ve done this in a F-15E back in 1993 then the next day some friends and I rode to Milwaukee for the Harley Davidson 90th anniversary, I was riding my brand new 1993 Softail Custom. Was a great weekend! The F-15E has two of the same engines as used on the F-16. 🇺🇸
Learn how to breath and 8 gs is not that big of a deal. The men that pass out don't breath. They hyperventilate which blacks you out. Like child birth you are taught how to breath. Deep quick not shallow quick. Shallow quick you will pass out. Deep quick and hold. Plus they were only going straight then pulled up. No crazy spins or hard pulling gs. Being a pilot it just comes natural. Doesn't matter if you are male or female.
I can't imagine getting paid to do that. I mean, I know that pilots do a LOT more than just that, but to strap that beastly machine on your back to fight with it...It has to be one of the coolest feelings.
Until your radar warning receiver starts screaming at you that you've got an incoming missile at your six o'clock . . . . . So you pull 9gs and crank it hard, dumping chaff, missile shoots by your face, but your alive. So then you firewall the throttle, max burner, steep climb up over the top, roll level, master arm on, tone acquired, FOX 3, watch it track . . . . . . FIREBALL . . . . SPLASH 1.

@@preggno It is real 8gs but I guess the helmet, and surely the plane itself, helps with that so that you don't have to fight it like you usually see pilots do.
Jet pilots are really impressive humans. So much going on, so much to take in and react to. An array of things that could go wrong if they aren't sharp like a samurai sword at most every moment of them being in that seat. I admire pilots in general, but fighter pilots are next level !

@@birb7092 i am also seeing places that say if you can correct your vision with lenses then you can fly. But I think that is more commercial. I am pretty sure to be a fighter pilot you need good vision and cannot be color blind either.
@@09fatbobmike while I was in, it was 20/20 non-corrective vision, then changed to 20/20 vision with corrective as long as it wasn't the one where they flap open the cornea (for fear of undoing the flap at high g's)

Woman pilots actually are better with G force's due to their physiology... Women can counteract G-forces because their physiology makes them more tolerant of G-forces than men. (G-forces push down on a body, they overcome the ability of the heart to pump oxygenated blood upward into the brain. Blood begins to pool in the lower extremities, while blood circulation to the head is reduced. When blood circulation to the head is sufficiently reduced, the oxygen supply to the brain becomes insufficient.) Height, not strength or gender, is the most negative factor in a pilot's ability to tolerate G stress. Because women have a smaller body mass the shorter distance between their heart and brain makes it easier for them to counteract the G-forces. Advances in centrifuge technology and training , special exercises, and newer G-suits are making marked improvement in aircrew G-tolerance.
I’ve been in a mig with a g suit. And I’ve been in a few L39’s without. The first 4ish g turn or climb you make is the worst. Because you don’t know what to expect. The quick high g loads aren’t bad at all. It’s the sustained 6’s that made that tunnel start to close on me. Awesome experience. Would love to do it again.

@@larrydugan1441if the plane was going 420 knots when it pitched up and the rate of pitch was about 15 degrees/second, that means the average angular acceleration was close to 7g. that’s not including gravity, which would put it closer to 8g
@@bigguy4u989 funny... One of my nicknames was big guy. I only flew in the a F16 once. Most of my time was in F18s and other fighters. The F18 had an instantoeous pitch rate of 35 degrees per second. We used to do 7 g closed patterns for fun, which is a type of circuit that fighters do to stay close to the runway. There is no reason to pull 7 g to execute the type of climb the F16 was doing as it just disspates energy that is better used for the climb.

She was close. Def tunnel vision and confusion but she held well. Pilot was ready likely clinching solid she wasnt fully ready but yeah did well but borderline out.

you might not be talking about this, but the suit she's wearing is designed to pressurize the extremities and lower torso so that blood pressure remains stabilized in thee brain and lungs. like.. it actually squeezes you really hard
7 Gs isn't something to joke of. If it's for more than a few seconds, everyone's gonna pass out. Even trained and experienced pilots only manage 9 Gs without a G suit.
Flight characteristics of the f-16 dictate speeds at which certain maneuvers should be performed. I guarantee a person qualified and allowed to fly a multimillion dollar machine like this has no thoughts about using marijuana. Not worth throwing away your career and life's work

Used to love watching the blue angels do unrestricted climb take offs from the tower. 10k feet in seconds, full burner. Talk about jet noise. Used to get phone calls from the public first practice session of the season in pensacola. Early morning practice session weekly. Was a wake up call for a lot of people.
It has to roll inverted to level off from an unrestricted climb. The airframe isn't designed to handle much over -5G and it doesn't do well even at that. The inverted level off (+8G) turns those negative Gs into positive Gs, which the plane (and humans) are MUCH better at dealing with.
As an ex air traffic controler, USAF, I listened to these guys for years. I loved ATC. People would tell me, it's a stressful job, but I say, if you love your job and you really know your job, there is no stress. You just can't be wrong ever. Love what you do, or do something else.

My wife got to do this, she's the Executive Director of our airport which also serves the local AF and Army aircraft. I am thrilled that she got the opportunity, but sad that I didn't get a turn! ❤
She did well with that! I think I'd have organically redecorated the cockpit! Also, when the fighter climbs it's hard to remember that's not sped up footage, it's just what machines like that do for a living!

Radio call came after the rotation, once they were going straight up it dials back to 1.5g or so.. the 8g only lasted for the couple of seconds they were actually pulling from straight to vertical
Actually doctors and scientists did tests and it turns out that women can handle more G's and it's easier for them than men because of the way women's body is built. If you type into google search "women can handle more G's" you will probably find few articles that explain exactly why.
