I remember michael and ollie did a stint on postmodern mtv promoting the album. I was having to get up early for school, so had to tape it at like 1 am or so. I set an alarm for the entire week to see all the episodes. michael seemed so happy to me. I wonder if he'd gotten out of inxs, done the music/movies/things he wanted to do. I think he was tiring of the inxs sound even then. of course this is all guesses on my part, but I adored seeing him there. I so long to stop time, or make things happen differently. I for one would have been happy if michael had gone in this direction instead. would have loved more stuff like this, and more films like dogs in space, oh what could have been.

Wow.. You paused on the perfect spot! That could work as a cover of a Michael Hutchence compilation CD. I know Ollie's work quite well, but he was very alternative and from that side of the Melbourne music community. I guess we call them the ''Inner City Sound'' bunch. Nick Cave, Models, Rowland S. Howard, Hunters And Collectors and Deckchairs Overboard came from that scene. Michael, needing no introduction, was from Sydney and the complete opposite to that Melbourne scene. But he got to star in a 1986 movie called ''Dogs In Space'', which was based on the Melbourne ''punk'' (Inner City Sound) scene in the early 80's. Michael played the role of The Ears' leadsinger, Sam Sejavka, and the fictious band Dogs In Space (who were based on The Ears). Cathy McQuade of Deckchairs Overboard was the bass player of The Ears before jumping onto The Deck(s). Michael hit it off with one of Melbourne's most esoteric underground artists, Ollie Olsen, during the filming, and this was the result. Cheers, Hayley

I know it's been said that Ollie gave Michael street cred and Michael got Ollie a feed, but I also think Hutchence got some freedom with Max Q. The last shots of Michael and Ollie running towards and away from the camera shows how alike they were. They were mates and I think Ollie got to experience a side of Michael that perhaps the guys in INXS weren't seeing. Of course, that's just my wild guess. I have no authority to speak on such matters. I was just a mere onlooker and partaker in that inner city sound scene in Melbourne, and saw loads of Ollie projects unfold live, from Whirlywirld to No!.. etc.. etc

No rush for ''Products'' unless you want to do it, but the picture I've sent is very rare and in very good condition, and it has to be used for a reaction to ''Products''.

Thanks for making mention of Ollie. He did a version of the 60's song ''The Real Thing'' with his post-MAX Q group ''Third Eye''. Good to check out No! with ''Hypereality''. This is Ollie's pre-Max Q band NO performing ''Hypereality'' on Countdown Revoliton: Copy/past in search: Hyperreality - NO (Countdown Revolution) [HQ] There's a rabbit hole of all this Melbourne stuff, but it may not give you the views and judging from your subscription base and comments, I doubt your regular viewers are the curious types.
