@@valentds If you mean Sakurai, at least it seems like he's choosing the last DLC characters without any regard for what people say, which is a good thing And Harada is just living life, man just rebooted Poland's democracy with a woman who does karate
@@ninboy01 I would rather Dante not be a mii fighter at all because really it's just a slap in the face. "Oh you wanted a character in the game as an actual character? Ok, we'll have him as a mii fighter that nobody wanted".
@@--InsertNameHere-- That's exactly what I've been saying about Shantae, but now honestly, I'm happy she's in the game at all, and coming with a song no less.
@@namefake1797 ah ok, I know in Street Fighter Akuma/Gouki has '天' on his back, and was explained to me as it being 'heaven' b/c he sees himself as above everyone on Earth, etc.
I was upset about Dante being in as a Mii fighter until i saw that Atlus tweeted the featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series sticker today. That tweet is way too fucking funny to be upset about it anymore
That and lets be honest, in every game dante's featured in, he had way too many unique moves that probably would of made the dev's scratch their head on how he'd operate. Megaman had the same issue, but he only needed to use one of specific robot masters for moves and a throw. Dante however....there's alot to pull from and he's better off in MvC3 tbh.
@@SuntoryKick I mean I get what you're saying although I think his statement is kinda true because for most people who know the different joycon movement its a lot easier however Dante has a very wide variety of weapons and moves which would take a lot to time to think which one would fit (that's just my thought never really gotten into both franchises so I'd take this with a grain of salt)
I expected harada to appear behind him after he said "itd be a little odd to make a kazuya amiibo" and him "insist" that there is nothing odd about it, slap his back a bunch and laugh like some anime character.
This was the next best thing we could have gotten given the circumstances. With so many viable fighters to choose from and only one slot left, not everybody is going to join the battle. Better to get some representation in Smash with Mii costumes even if it's not what we had in mind.
Couldn't hear what he was saying, so I assumed he was referring to "Sora", which I now realize it's closer to "Sky" than "Heaven". Yeah, he was referring to ninTENdo.
"Nintendo" roughly translates to "Leave luck to heaven," so Sakurai getting words from on-high is a cheeky way of him to say his bosses put Tekken on his desk and said "do it" :P
@@Davethawave1999 yeah I get the sentiment of wanting more updates for smash, but there's already a huge roster of characters to play with. I'm just hoping the next character is someone really cool, but I'm also wondering what the future of smash is. If they make another sequel, what the hell can they add to it?
@@Davethawave1999 Not like SFV got 3 seasons despite selling like trash. Or FighterZ getting like 20 DLC. even tho smash is the most sold fighting game ever but kay
I'm shocked no one caught that Sakurai was speaking in Haro's cadence when he talked about the voice from Heaven. Straight up Mobile Suit Gundam reference there.
Hes referring to nintendo Japanese name which means leave luck to heaven. It goes over overseas viewers cause nintendo has no english words. So nintendo "heavens" asked him to make it
@@waverazor Listen to his speech when he says: "Masahiro....Masahiro..." then finishes his sentence. He's speaking just like Haro from Mobile Suit Gundam.
I've been doing the same thing since I was 5 years old my guy, on an N64 controller no less. It's all about what you're used to/comfortable with and currently, I do not know how to get the same precision/accuracy with M & KB. Same thing how when I go to arcades, I'm no good with fight sticks because they're more foreign to me, but I can perform adequately on a controller. Unlike FPSs though, I'm not great at fighting games.
@@LunaMinuna I mean who cares about a costume if you don't play miis. If someone doesn't care about something because it doesn't change anything for them how is it toxic? It's just their opinion. There is a difference between not caring and being an asshole to people because you didn't get what you want that's what's toxic.
I'm willing to forgive him after what he said 20 seconds later, where he pointed out that it's just an issue with Ryu and Ken. Maybe he wanted to say "similar to the shotos in this game" or "similar to the other characters who are shotos" but accidentally butchered it and said "similar to the other shotos."
Bro the ones I wanted are there like Chicago USA Tekken Theme Arcade Jin Kazamas Theme Tekken 3 Arcade (the best versions are the Arcade ones but from TTT and Below ) Hwoarang Theme Tekken 3 Arcade Heihachi Theme Tekken 3 Console version(I was wrong about this one but this one sounds cooler then the Arcade one so that’s Good) Tekken Tag tournament Opening Movie song Tekken 4 Kitsch Bit crusher Tekken 5 Moonlit Wilderness Poolside Tekken 6 Karma (It’s a Remix /: but it’s good nonetheless) Yodeling in Meadows Tekken Tag 2 Abyss of time Plucking tulips And everything the Tekken 7 soundtracks are good too well the ones that were added
Here is hoping she gets in as a character in a future Smash. Especially for the soundtrack. One song is cool. But we could all name countless more that would be great in Smash. Like the Scuttle Town theme. Or Bolo's theme. Or Dance Through The Danger. Or Cult Of Personality. Or the theme for Risky Boots.
@@hector4470 Fun Fact: WayForward made a game called Mighty Switch Force, it has a Sci-fi atmosphere which really reminds me of Metroid. So I think WayForward is satisfied with Zero suit Samus and Ridley in Smash.
And while I wanted Shantae as a fighter her art style and lack of a regular 3D model at least means she looks better as a Mii than characters with more realistic proportions.
I gotta say, 39 music tracks from every Tekken series is good. And how Max was so happy to see "Yodeling in Meadow Hill" in the list. And how the details they did on the stage and the omega form. Got to say, it's perfect. Also, just got to play Tekken 7 with my friends and I gotta say it is fun.
I appreciate that they featured more songs from the recent Tekken titles. One of the few things that bothered me about other traditional fighters was that their tracks were mostly composed of old classics. Having something like Heat Haze Shadow's dubstep/edm is a pretty exciting change from the usual orchestra/rock approach.
@@frostjotunn362 The stone scabbard, gale wind, blazing edge, and counter special moves got buffed if any of those sound interesting to you. They didn't get a huge buff, more like better frame data like faster recovery and start up but those are now better.
I love how with each fighting game character we get the more complex and just straight ripped from the game their styles are the inputs are so insane for smash I love it
@@TommyDeonauthsArchives okay...? i just wanna say that i never said they couldnt have been in base game lol i was just stating the fact that all mii costumes have finally returned.
I suspect Sakurai decided to punish all the "not another shoto" folks by systematically destroying their hopes of a dlc fighter with mii costumes. He giveth, he taketh.
Everyone, including myself have said it a million times but I'll say it again: We did not deserve Sakurai. While I personally don't have a connection to Tekken or traditional fighting games in general you can't deny the love and effort him and his team put into this game. I mean he removed the fucking hitstun on Kazuya's attacks to make him feel more Tekken like. What the fuck, man.
This character is the reason I tried out Tekken at my local arcade recently, actually it's the first time I've really tried to play a fighting game, and I loved it. Unfortunately I don't have a pc or a ps4, so I hope Tekken comes to switch soon.
@@marlonmontelhiggins8570 It's not officially Nintendo, but Hori makes an arcade stick that works for both Nintendo Switch and PC. I bought one to use for fighting games on PC, and it's working pretty well so far as a good budget option.
Reminder that as of Pyra and Mythra, Lloyd Irving was the only Mii costume from Smash 4 that wasn't in Ultimate. Now that he's back, it means that the final wave of Mii costumes will be all original to Ultimate, meaning more chances to deconfirm franchises that have not been represented in Smash.
I mean... that doesn't mean anything practically. The DLC is *over* after next fighter, there's not going to be a season 3. The reveal of the next fighter alone will disconfirm literally every other possibility for Ultimate's DLC, the Mii costumes that'll come with them won't change anything. The only way this would mean anything would be if we were to assume that once a Mii costume always a Mii costume, which would be... ill-advised considering some certain base game newcomers.
@@paperluigi6132 That's the thing man, there isn't going to be any more fighters after the next one. Unless you believe that Sakurai and Nintendo have been withholding information from us about season 3 the whole time, which is... really optimistic.
at the end there when sakurai mentioned this life's work i'm assuming he's probably going to announce he's going retire after the next character breakdown since there is no way he can top this game in the future if he keeps going. As max said it's probably going to be a late november or december announcement for the last fighter and I have a feeling it's going to be like the last wave a letdown as to who it is like byeth on the last set just a theory they don't seem to have any order of release to these anyways.
He's specifically stated that he's *not* going to retire from the games industry all-together. He'll be stepping away from the Smash series, but not game development.
I was waiting for this video. I just had to see Max's reactions on all the moves that Kazuya could do. And he was spot on about a lot that was shown technically.
A wise man once said, "Aw. You know what always cheers me up? Laughing at other people's misfortunes. Hahaha haha." I choose to do that to deconfirms that I don't care for.
SAME MAN SAME. literally when the mii section started i thought “what if dante mii costume.... STOP why would you even **think** that?” and then the worst came to pass........ T_T
It baffles me how Kazuya is both the most casual and the most complex character in the game now. On one hand you can do all this crazy shit with just the A button and mashing and on the other hand you can learn how to do things properly and combo enemies into oblivion.
I wanted Dante ... he s a mii costume I was thinking about Shantae ... mii costume And Lloyd... a mii costume... I hope the last character is extremely GOOD otherwise, despite steve and sephiroth, the rest are trashes...
The nods to how certain things work in Tekken are great. Crouch dash, Nejiri Uraken, and Hellsweep all have some invincibility to mimic the high crushing properties of those moves. The 10 string is actually borderline useless but the last hit can't be shielded because the last hit of Kazuya's 10 string is unblockable in Tekken. They gave him a legit EWGF, rising 2, and the actual command for Gates of Hell, because of course they did. The Mishima dojo has the "Kazumi loves Heichachi" carving, I love it.
Kaz looks absolutely insane! I definitely am excited for him! However, I have to go cry in a corner now as Dante is now officially deconfirmed, I cry. Still excited for Kaz
It’s crazy when you think about it. Heihachi was in SoulCalibur 2 (ps2 ver), Jin was in SC5, and now Kazuya is in Smash Ult. This family really is too damn powerful. They just hop into other worlds and starting flooring other fighters lmao
Kazuya's special moves reminds me of Devilman's moves from the 1972 anime. "Devil Bean!" "Devil Arrow!" "Devil Chop!" "Devil Cutter!" "Devil Wing!" That version of Devilman is one of my favorites 😆
My favorite part about this presentation, it is when Sakurai was playing pocketing the lasers with the villagers. He was using three controllers like a keyboard, and having fun, man is a legend! haha
Just to correct Sakuri on one of Kazuya's poses, the pose where Kazuya does a flying side kick and then a punch is actually from Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection, not Tekken 7.
If you do give it a shot just be prepared for a ton of toxic players online. (I think MK11 is worse at this) However, you can play the story, some arcade matches, and then play some online. It’s fun but I wish it had more single player content. Good luck.
@@knighttrax4237 There's also Treasure Battle and Practice mode. Not as much for singleplayer as previous entries, but no shortage of things to do nonetheless.
i am proud to announce as a smash player i haved branched out into the world of fighting games and might i say, what a beautiful world it os, bought my first fight stick last month, though its small, i plan on building my own and to dive deeper into the rabbit hole of fighters. :)
About the Lloyd Mii Costume... Ultimate featured every single first party costume available in Smash 4 - whether they were in the base game or added later as DLC; however, all of the third-party costumes were notably absent and re-added alongside new stuff in the various waves. Lloyd is actually the very last one, so now every single costume that was avilable in Smash 4 will be available in Ultimate as well... If we get a Wave 11, it will be entirely new costumes
