@nobody4633 OH, I remember that one(it's why when I hear the Panzer Dragoon horn beginning I can't not hear Max's scream). I mean specifically while the video image he's reacting to is in space
First the Cloud Smash reveal and now this where Max has been shown a starscape and been able to immediately call what the music is from, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice
Seeing Max react to the Killer Instinct music at 19:40 reminds me of the first Maximilian Dood video I ever saw, when he was reacting to the Killer Instinct (2013) trailer. Good times!
And it also reminds me of his reaction to Cloud's reveal in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U, another favourite Max video, in the sense that he immediately recognized the music against a starry sky.
The Endless Ocean series on Wii was, in fact, Developed by Arika, so the fact that there is a new one coming out is pretty cool, considering how ridiculously obscure the series is to most people. I do wonder if Arika is even developing Endless Ocean Luminous, since I can't find anything about the developer of the game, but if they are I'd be pretty happy to support them.
To be fair, they'd have to localize it from scratch. No way they'd do that for something like Switch Online. That's something they'd outright sell. And before someone brings it up, no they legally cannot use the fan translation. There's a LOT of legal kerfuffle with doing something like that but the shortest version is they would have to pay the translators for that or else its a lost lawsuit.
@@GameAW1 Yeah, plus they could translate it with a team in like a single month given the amount of translators and sectioning out pieces to each one. Even if they DO sell it, It would be a boon. For how little work they have to do (MAYBE retooling some graphics, i.e. the Mermen) they could make a killing.
As someone with tons of hours in Gundam breaker 3, the costumization was absolutely nuts. You could put like 20 swords on top of funnels on top of canons on to top of god knows what on your gunpla and you could use every single one of those weapons, you'd use the directional pad to cycle through your weapons and changing weapons actually cancelled out of the previous weapon's animations add the step cancels they brought in from Gundam vs. and the gameplay could get absolutely insane it was gunpla DMC bro.
I haven't played SNES KI for over two decades, and once I heard that 1st note of the main theme, I paused...and I knew. Finally, KI on the Switch! That was a win for me.
Arrived for the KI reaction. Found something unexpected with Max's take on the new super monkey ball game. I should've expected that to be a yo videogames video game
The rare reveal broke my brain momentarily. The starscape and that text looked exactly like starfox 64 and then the music kicked in and i couldnt have been more confused.
i watched this direct in a public space, the deafening silence of people slowly leaving when endless ocean popped up as the last game was very saddening to experience
That's kinda the risk Nintendo took in making such an incredibly niche game their last big announcement. They usually save a big general appeal splash for it, so it's not surprising they took every possible generally hype expectation and dunked it underwater. Not to mention right after Rare dropped like 20% of Rare Replay all at once, making their "last announcements" a two parter gave the impression they were related to me.
These past two weeks of Direct and Xbox discourse I just come to Max for him to say KILLER INSTINCT AND HE WAS THE ONLY ONE TO RECOGNIZE THE MUSIC AGAIN, ALMOST TEN YEARS LATER
Endless Ocean 2 was so important to me. I can't thank it enough for keeping me occupied on all of those boring summers with nothing to do. It stands as my favorite game of all time, triumphing all of my favorite childhood games; Minecraft, Halo, Wii Sports, Lego Star Wars, even Terraria. As great as Baldur's Gate 3 and Kingdom Hearts 2 are, as a game, Endless Ocean 2 is a game that truly speaks to what I love most. EO:L looks a little strange. But I can see that it might be because its an online game, which will definitely be a new avenue for this kind of game. I'm a little worried that my biases will get in the way of enjoying it, but I am tentatively hopeful, and endlessly grateful that this gem of a game is not completely forgotten.
I rented that game back then just one single time, but I played it with friends, and we had a blast (no pun intended). It was super fun. To be able to replay it on the Switch is pretty cool, however, I think it would have been also amazing to see a remaster. But I feel like Blast Corps is way too niche for a remaster (for Doom 64 it worked, because it's Doom, but remastering N64 games would probably only work for the most known titles). Two games I'd like to see a remaster of would be Blast Corps but also Body Harvest.
@@DeadPhoenix86DPKI and KI 2 were originally SNES games, besides their arcade versions. As Max said, the SNES port of KI has not been rereleased for later consoles by MS (current owner of Rare's IPs) until now. XBox got the arcade version of KI and Gold, but not a remaster of the SNES version, and none of the versions have been remastered for Nintendo consoles since MS bought Rare.
Ending on Endless Ocean was one of the weirdest puzzling choice I've ever seen to close a Nintendo Direct, like I loved both the 2 first entries on the Wii and I'm glad to see a 3rd entry after so long but choosing a chill niche cult following game to close the direct is... Certainly something... Well at least it's nice to see the trend of Nintendo reviving niche IPs still going strong.
They probably chose it since they're publishing it, and as far as I can tell, it's their only published game in the lineup. Probably wanting to hype it up I guess.
If I had a nickel for everytime Max flipped out to a black space background during a nintendo direct, I'd have two nickels Which isn't a lot, but its weird that it happnened twice
As soon as I saw KI was available on the Switch I grabbed it. Loaded up my fav (Cinder) and smashed it. Managing an Ultra Combo on my first match. Maybe we could see a Max Dood KI tournament live stream?
