Richard Pinel plays the 1965 Harrison and Harrison organ of St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle during his final organ recital as Assistant Director of Music there. 1st November 1026
My favorite of the Reger Chorale Fantasies - very cleanly done... pedal trills & all. Very effective registrations & manual changes - (though I like to articulate the first 3 notes of the fugue more; and play more "maestoso" on the last page of the fugue, with a considerably broader, more dramatic rallentando on the last line.) Mais c'est une question de préférence, bien sûr ! So nice to see a quiet and controlled keyboard technique for a change! Beautiful hand position. A refined performance (of a hellaciously difficult piece) on a wonderful, and well-suited English instrument. Thank you.
