@@lauralarocque8411 he’s actually all better, he said he felt too good, that’s why his mechanics were off. Next start he should be right as rain. But this is why we pay Max the big bucks. When he’s not 100% he can still get outs and go deep into a game without imploding.

@IdliAmin_TheLastKingofSambar 2 года назад
@@metzaddict Max and Bassitt, in particular, have definitely been doing that, and Jeremy Hefner deserves a lot of credit for encouraging it, rather than feeling undermined by it (remember, Hef is about the same age as the vets; he’s nearly two years _younger_ than Scherzer, for example). Understandably, Jake wasn’t with the team for the first couple of weeks, but he leads by example. You probably won’t see him walking the others through game video on an iPad, the way we’ve seen Bassitt do. But Stroman has spoken reverentially about Jake, and about learning from him just by watching what he does and asking questions.

Max: Are you serious about signing me to a multi-year contract with your organization? Mets owner: Are you kidding? I’d give my right eye. Max: You do realize, there are certain contract stipulations you'll need to follow. Mets owner: I'd like to think I have an eye for details. Max: I'm assuming, of course, you have the $5,000,000 sign-on bonus, or you wouldn't even be here. Mets owner: Exsqueeze me? A baking powder? $5,000,000 sign-on bonus? Yes, we have that, actually. Yes. Piece of cake. Max: Fine. Then all forms and applications must be filled out in triplicate and returned to my agent no later than 10 working days before the season with the money. Mets owner: Okay. I’ll take these home, run through them with a fine-tooth comb, cross the "t's" and dot the...lower-case "j's."

Oblique strain suffered in yesterday's start. Mad max gone for two months. There goes $39 million a year down the drain. Age is catching up to mad max. As many have said, father time is undefeated. This comes as no surprise to me and its looking like the Dodgers got the last laugh because they saw the writing on the wall. Thats why you don't sign a pitcher in his late 30s a lucrative multi-year contract no matter how good he is because he will break down just like max scherzer is right now. They're chained and bound to him for the next 3 years.
