Grattan Raceway is the closest race track to us here at STG making it our "Home Track". This riding video was from the weekend of 8.25.2018 during a track weekend we rode with our friends from Sportbike Track Time. Max was riding with his buddy Zack, both of them were on Yamaha R3's.

Awesome riding Max! Brian, I was wondering what rear tire you guys are running and what size? I have a ninja 400 track bike that i'm building and was curious what you have found out to work best.

We were using a 150/60 on the rear with a 120/70 on the front. For 2019 we are moving to 140 and 110 as I hear this is the way to go. We are working on some cool stuff for Pirelli that should be done this month, stay tuned. - Van

@@sportbiketrackgear Awesome! I'm also going to make the switch to a 140/70 rear. I see that Pirelli released a 140 rear slick, is this something you guys will eventually carry and is this the route you are going?

Hey STG, I have a question. How robust is the engine for the R3? In other words, how bulletproof is it for race and street riding? (Especially track). I have one myself but I am sometimes scared to rev it up a lot. I know Yamaha makes good engines, but I would love to get an opinion from the professionals like you guys. Thanks so much!

If you watch this video you will see Max is revving the shit out of his R3. The bike has over 2000 miles on it (a lot of them on the track) and it shows no signs of failure. Overall we are not hearing of many engine failures with the R3. Remember how long it lasts has a lot to do with the care you take of it. We are on top of all the maintenance using only Motul 300v oil. - Van

yo guys (sport bike track gear) just wondering the brand of your bike lifter/hydraulic lift? where u put your bike and liftted of the ground for easy service. and is it available to buy from u guys? thanks
