Starting from 14th on the grid was Max Verstappen of the Oracle Red Bull Racing team in his RB18 race car. Although he set the best time in qualifying, he was listed 14th on the grid due to a penalty. In the 14th race of the season, Verstappen fought his way to the front immediately after the start and placed himself right behind the leading group. After the first pit stop, he was able to take the lead on lap 18 and kept it until the end of the race.
