Man Max driving looks so smooth. It looks like the car isn‘t on the edge at all even though he‘s going insanely fast. No snap oversteer, no unstableness, hardly any steering corrections just planted to the ground and a whole lot precision. Really something magical watching him.
@@hiran4935 Hiren your point is correct but it would have increased the chance of error during turning like spining out..but this was enough to impress us
That was epic to watch . A real pleasure to watch a guy at the top of his game in complete harmony with his car. It's easy to forget because he's been around a while that he's still only 23! The guy is fantastic for F1.
@@jaysekhon8014 He was running much lower down force compared to Hamilton, for more straight line speed. That's why the lines he takes are not the normal lines he would take with a down force oriented setup. Low down force = sacrifice corner speed.
It looks like a computers driving, hardly any steering correction at all and perfect precision. Verstappen and Hamilton may just be two of the most naturally talented ever. Amazing that they’re 1-2.
Sublime. Seemingly effortless. Looks like he was out for a weekend cruise. But busy in an unhurried fashion. On one turn, still changing down mid corner and applying power before the apex.
One of the smoothest laps by max and stiil the lap time is on a level higher than anyone else. it felt like he could've gone 3 tenth faster than that and decided not to.
@@RblxFighter69420 Because, you know, there are 5 compounds for slick tyres and only 3 are used in a GP. They're labelled "soft", "medium" and "hard" for convenience. But a "hard" compound on one track can be labelled "soft" on the other.
How is it a 100% Merc track, might've been in the past but now, nah. Free Practice showed that RB have a small advantage. But still, it's a superb lap by Max, he was definitely the best today.
@@gowrishankarkn1465 thats literally what he meant by " a Merc track". A circuit that has favored Mercedes machinery in the past but now, RB stepped up to match them, and even beat them.
Anyone who says Verstappen isn’t elite, hasn’t watched F1 for years, this man is elite level talent and is still so young. Just appreciate the greatness you see from him please. You won’t see much better. I’m not bais, Hamilton is the best driver I’ve ever seen. So far anyway
@Alan ALI 12 And when ppl said to Ham fans like you (I've seen your ham comments before) that merc is the fastest you just say Ham is the goat. Hmmmmm.....
The true competitor of Max is probably Max himself, not even Lewis. If he has the car and the right strategy, he is pretty much writing his own rules and setting his own times. He could've still gone faster on this lap I reckon.
If Hamilton can't pull something out of a hat (Bahrein track limits, like it or not but it was smart to exploit it) and Verstappen doesn't have a mechanical issue it will be a very dominant day for Max tomorrow!! He needs it, Silverstone will come up and together with those sprint races it will be a field day for Lewis... THIS. SEASON. IS. SO. EXITING!!!
Everyone mention Maxs' driving but forget the work that the simulations, engineers and mechanics does to make the car perfect for him, Red Bull as a whole looking fired up this year!
I started closely following F1 since Baku 2021. It's a total pleasure to watch the thrilling race for the podium and the amazing handling skills of these cars on every track!
I still miss that engine sound of 2020 abu dhabi one but car was really smooth on corners unexpectedly. As in practice sessions, many drivers were struggling with the downforce setup due to gusty wind.
@@varungandhi8176 i mean it was a while ago, development happens, and ur right, they were very dominant in portimao but rn, red bull looks to be the favorite.
Mercedes lost almost 2 seconds compared to their 2019 Q3 time on this generic testtrack, Red Bull only 0.5 sec.. That's the difference.. I think Red Bull Honda and Max Verstappen might be able do it this year, dethrone the mighty Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton.. Finally after 7 years.. But we're not there yet, points are given only after the race tomorrow, Mercedes and Hamilton can still win it..
*_"points are given only after the race tomorrow, Mercedes and Hamilton can still win it"_* Wow, what a smart comment you got there Einstein, how long did it take you to figure that one out lol
2017 Ferrari looked more dominant than rb does now. And yet Lewis ended up winning by a decent margin. Let's hope rb will manage to stay ahead all season
1:08 verstappen took a fast-in slow-out approach here, rather than a slow-in fast-out like Hamilton, Alonso and others today. Would be interesting to see comparison laps here!
fast in would be better there since the next left decently sharp turn comes pretty shortly after it. Thus not being able to really take benefit of regaining lost time by acceleration.
If Max does win the WDC, the biggest victory wont be ending Mercedes' dominance, It will be shutting Brundle's mouth up 🙄🙄 what an annoying biased dude, unbearable
Meanwhile in Brackley: Mercedes is trying to find another way to charge Red Bull Racing, after the flex-wings, so-called 'illegal' pitcrew tools and the tyre-pressures. All the lawyers have no weekend-off! Knowing HAM has even asked/ begged for a penalty to RBR after Baku and Arnold insinuates RBR is cheating with tyre pressures. HAM and Arnold are becoming very despicable persons. Edit: Now RBR has claimed the pole without any of those so-called 'illegal issues' Arnold and his team should really shut their mouth and stop framing RBR. After seven years of dominance play tricks like this is multi-champion unworthy.
@@theglitch312 There was a meeting between Pirelli and the drivers on Friday evening for 90 minutes. In the first place the drivers did not want to participate, because they know Pirelli would wash their hands in innocence. And you know what? Pirelli was as expected very vague about the incidents. Like: 'Yes, the tyres have no flaws, but the teams didn't do anything wrong either'. Details about the meeting were published by the respected AMuS (Auto Motor und Sport) which revealed HAM has explicitly asked why Red Bull was not given a penalty if they had run their tyre pressures below expectations in Baku, but the answer to that simply was: there was no evidence of any wrongdoing. Kind a sad/ pathetic imo. Arnold is no better at all....
@@CousinoufI'm not sure if everyone in the field would agree with "very easily." Takes a tremendous confidence in everything to throw yourself into that. It's also a crazy amount of G force for the driver to endure lap after lap. In the old CART series on ovals the drivers started passing out because not enough time on the straights to get enough blood to the head again. This isn't banked liked that, but they're running enough down force that it doesn't matter for that couple seconds -- and then there's all the other turns to deal with too.
I've always maintained that Hamilton is the fastest driver and has been since 2008. Yeah he's got a great car but it takes more than just a car to be as dominant as he has been for so long. But now I think it's possible Max is the most talented
As for the T2 track limit: No faul. at 0:20 the edge of the tyre is still touching the line. Same goes for tennis resp. tabletennis: as long as the ball touches the line or edge of table, no problem.
man he probably would’ve gotten pole in baku and monaco had there not been the red flags, such an amazing lap tho!! Keep it up Max that was unbelievable!
Yeah, it bothered me as well. Some intern must have switched fonts and forgot to pick a MONO spaced one =/ And I say intern because a professional shouldn't make these kinds of mistakes
