I have synced the far superior FM audio to the video, which was actually a bit painstaking, as each song from the cassette taped off CHUM FM ran at a slightly different speed. But this was absolutely necessary as the City TV audio paled in comparison. The joys of analog.
I also tagged on the clip of Battle Scar that was later broadcast on The New Music. This particular copy is from a 1990 re-broadcast in noticeably better video quality than the rest.
Kim Mitchell - guitar and lead vocals
Gary McCracken - drums
Dave Myles - bass
Dave Stone - keyboards

But wait there's more !!! Like South Parks's joke goes there's no Canada like French Canada. There's a whole music scene in Quebec that most of us dont even know about. All in French of course but that's cool. Dont have to understand it. Try Offenbach or Corbeau. They are a good start and follow a few links.

Got my introduction to Max Webster back in late 1970's, when friends and I attended a 4 bands for 5 bucks show here in St. Paul MN, Max was the unknown warm up band, still had Mike Tilka on bass, and TW on the keys. The other bands were in order, Starcastle, Styx, and Rush. Max crushed at this show, so impressed, I went on a search at the record store to find their lps, and came home with the first self tltled and High Class in Borrowed Shoes, and man did we wear those lps out. Followed them ever since.

OMG I WAS THERE!! I was at that very show I actually worked as a staff roadie for the Roxy Theater, and Max Webster was my first show. I was 16-17 at the time and was already a huge Max Webster fan, so you could imagine how cool it was to see the band and crew behind the scenes; as they gave me a lesson in how to unpack band gear and set up a theater stage… all this and I got my own private mini concert (they called it a sound check) before the amazing show that night. I was lucky enough to have been working the Roxy for many great bands of the time like Goddo, Teenage Head, Nash the Slash, Saga to name a few. This is a great gem of a memory. I still can’t believe this footage exists! If there is any more Roxy theater footage lying around, it would be so amazing to see it Thank you Bob for sharing an actual piece of my teens with me and the world! Cheers

Kim walking into the audience on Beyond The Moon reminded me of seeing The Kim Mitchell Band at the Squires Inn just outside Lambeth/London in the early-mid part of the 80's. He stepped off the stage, and right on to our table with a little guitar wizardry!! Whether it was Max Webster, or his brilliant solo work...they were always high energy, and extremely tight. One of Canada's all time finest. Thanks for these great memories!!

Haha! Was at Kim Mitchell's show on New Year's Eve at Guelph Memorial Gardens on a first date with a girl around '85 or '86. Helix opened and kicked ass! Kim played until 11:45, then, says "Goodnight". Man, was I pissed! What do you do at 11:45 on NYE???Thought he's at least see NYE in with us! Could have been the arena wouldn't let him play that late, but you think they'ed make an exception! I was pissed at him for years after that!!! Made my peace with him (LOL!) when I saw him a few years ago at a bar in Guelph. Still a great performer!

Good lord, the mix is AWESOME alongside the footage I've seen so many times with mediocre sounds - this can and should be released in this rejuvenated/recarnated format - IT'S ALIVE! I think Dave Stone was amazing on keyboards for this show especially since he was only in the band for FOUR DAYS when this was recorded. Think about that, all the tricky Terry Watkinson keyboard lines and putting his own stamp on them in that short period of time. And Kim and the guys are in fine form - lots of verve and energy.

Thank's Bob for sharring and being carefully meticulous to give us a augmented product. As being a big fan in between '77 to '79, saw Mutiny up my sleeve and A million vacations albums comming out and saw them live at the N.A.C in Ottawa on tour for A million vacations . In 1981 i saw many times Peter Fredette's band Butler as they where giging some of the same clubs as i used to do, like Roxanne's in Hull (Gatineau). I saw Mutiny up my sleeve on vinyl last week at Sunrise record store in Saint-Jérôme, 30% off $27.99. We used to pay $5 at the end of the '70's.
