I briefly had one of these (bought 2nd hand from a CB dealer). I was totally unimpressed by its performance using the supplied telescopic antenna. My friend (home base) across town could hardly hear me. I took it back and the dealer assured me it was producing 4W output with his testing gear. I swapped it for an Alba CB H2 (with rubber duck antenna). This was a 2W set which performed better on Tx. My friend confirmed it was better. This led me to conclude that although rubber ducks are shocking, the telescopic on the Maxcom was even worse.
