The STEINERT XSS-T X-ray sorting system is used for dry density sorting of bulk materials. A transmitting procedure detects material-dependent differences in the absorption of X-rays, then classifies and uses them for sorting into density classes. The XSS-T features an eccentrically mounted pole system, which ensures maximum efficiency by focusing the influence of the magnetic fields precisely where the material experiences the greatest force and is at the point of separation from the conveyor belt.
