My favorite MTH song. As Jeff said, it's about Maximum The Ryo (guitar/vocals and Nao's little brother)'s bullying at school because of his weight, the desire for revenge he first felt before turning the page and moving on to more positive things. Wonderful song.

It makes sense now. The opening scenes were shot in a school.
@cactustactics

Also the intro ends with Nao singing "nobody could help him, not even his big sister" so the scream after that isn't just for shock value. I always liked that little flower on the blackboard, a little symbol of something positive growing out of it all, like a new start

A song born of pain...Ryo was bullied in school for his weight. His big sister, Nao always had his back.
@dondavid6514

The song is about Ryo unleashing his frustrations of being judged and bullied when he was young, he lets out some messages and then vile messages (from the loud vocalist daisuke)against his tormentors... Only to show thay he has matured and grown past it The last line of him is "all we can do is just forgive" or "all we can do is let it go"

So powerful. If you get a chance to see any live footage of this song you can see how emotional it is for the band - especially Ryo and Nao. You can see the pain on their faces as they sing the anthemic part. Hell of a band. They inspired Tamu from Nemophila and Hanabie, so we owe them for more than just their own amazing songs.

Thanks again for the reaction, this is simply a phenomenal Band. Was lucky to see them live last year in Cologne (first time in Germany after 10+ years). One of the best shows I've ever seen, it completely blew me away. Walking away from the concer some punks on the street asked me "Who are all this sweatting, smiling people????" 😂 Please go ahead, I already subscribed as I really enjoy your reactions!! Maybe next one "Lets talk about Menkata Cottellee", assume will leave you with a big smile 🙂

This song is a moving one, if you know what's about. I agree with the suggestion of HUNGRY PRIDE as the next step. It's a more "linear" one, but incredibly powerful. Then, another "WTF" one could be KORE KARA MENKATA COTTELEE NO HANASHI WO SHIYOU, that's about old fans blaming Ryo-kun for his weight loss - he had to lose a lot of weight for health matters, but stupid fans didn't like it. I also recommend one of their older hits, KOI NO MEGA LOVER. It's more poppy, and it was a massive radio hit in Japan, but it's f... damn cool, and it shows another side of the band. KOI NO means "Love's", and often returns in some of their titles (KOI NO MEGA-LOVER - Love's Mega Lover, KOI NO SPERMA - Love's Sperm, and KOI NO AMERICA - Love's America).

I'm 51 years old and being all my life listening to rock/metal (and others styles), beginning with The Who (thx to my deeply regretted older sister) and Dire Straits. Later with Metallica/Pantera/SOAD/Sepultura/Angra and so much more. But NEVER a band has blown away my mind as MTH does! So much good influences like SOAD and Pantera (again), a touch of Red Hot Chili Peppers and a few Napalm Death. Awesome different parts in so different styles in one song as usually. They don't forbid themselves anything and everything matches perfectly. They even made me like their electro-pop music that I usually hate just because they do it so right! Definitely my favourite metal band!

Good way to start my day. "Yoshu Fukushu" or "Preemptive Revenge" is a song about bullying at school.

I love seeing someone discover and continue searching for more from MTH, it's my favorite band. I'm really liking your reactions! I have so many recommendations hahaha, recently they have been re-uploading their old video clips and some are in the middle of the video, an example (and recommendation) is "Tsume Tsume Tsume" and "Buikkikaesu" ("爪爪爪" / "ぶっ生き返す!!") who come together in a video but they play the songs after talking a few things. but if I have to recommend one song over the others, it is the one that most recently re-uploaded "鬱くしき人々のうた" (Song for the Beaudepressed People) is my favorite song, it talks about depression and is one of the few songs by the band that it is easy to find his translated lyrics on the internet

Glad you're enjoying MTH! I admit it took quite a while for me to get hooked. At one point fairly recently most of their catalog became available to buy from Western outlets (both MP3 and physical formats) and I bought it all. Their groove is just fantastic and without English lyrics I'm able to listen while working without being verbally distracted. Keep 'em coming!

Thanks for doing most of the MTH videos. Thus is about Ryo aka RYO THE HORMONE. OR RYO THE KUN (Little Brothet) Nao's younger Btothet. Its about him being Bullied at School for weight basically. And internal struggles. It came with a comic telling the story. If you want link for this Albums Concert. Album same title as this song. Let me know where to post. Not in comments your channel will be hit

This is so touching. It _is_ somber. And angry. And frustrated. And accepting, eventually, that things will change and grow. All their songs are fantastic, but this one touches me. Japan, compared to the U.S., is a very _very_ conformist society. Maybe it's because they're an island 90 miles from Asia and have always pretty much kept to themselves, maybe it's because of their history that insists on identifying so much with family, clan, and region. Maybe it's because their island is volcanic and has frequent earthquakes and tsunami, and typhoons - where everyone depends on everyone else around them and if anyone is going to "go their own way" they'll be ostracized and exiled because they can't be depended on for help when times get tough. Bullying is a big problem in schools. You dare not be different in any way or you will be punished and isolated. I felt that way in high school too. My anthem was Rush's "Subdivisions" _("conform or be cast out")_ but my experiences must have been mild compared to what they are talking about here. Like I said before; all their songs are great but this one touches me.

Sir, I don't see any video of you reacting to ONE OK ROCK... they are also a Japanese band, and their live performances (personally) sound way more amazing than their studio version... for starters... I want to recommend Clock Strikes and Deeper Deeper.. please watch any live perf of these songs 😊... Their crowd work is also awesome... I suggest watching Paper Planes (also live in Yokohama Arena)... their concert collab with the orchestra is also lit, but better watch it once you have really appreciated and familiarized your way in the ONE OK ROCK world :)

you definetely have to check out something from dir en grey or some other bands started by kyo (vocalist of dir en grey). but listen to live versions - they usually change their sound in lives, add more parts to it and so on vinushka will be the great one to start with them, you will be impressed with what kyo can make with his voice

I'm definitely not an expert but your pronunciation sounded really good to me! When you said the 'f' with a bit of a 'h' I actually skipped back to check if I heard right, that was slick. Someone's done their homework! And honestly yeah, I think layering is a better word for those vocals you were talking about - harmonising is really people singing different notes that sound nice together, this is all people singing the same thing. They're "gang vocals" really I think, where it's like a bunch of people singing/shouting together, and it's meant to sound like a crowd rather than a polished set of vocals. Kinda the opposite of harmonisation in that sense!

@@TRMReacts62812 I mean I wouldn't fault anyone for not knowing how to pronounce a thing, and it's not easy even when you do know... but it's nice that you care enough to make the effort! Just a good attitude in general, y'know? Don't worry too much about being perfect, we all trip up, just most of us get to do it in private!
