Maxwell finds out that Brighton was caught smoking at school, and Fran has been keeping it from him.

This was how we knew that Brighton actually liked Fran - he smoked because he saw her smoking, but didn't rat her out. ❤️

No you're thinking of Maggie she did not he did not see Fran smoke they were talking about a boy that was in their younger grades who was so Macho and he used to like the his match on the zipper in his pants and smoke and they were talking about that and so Brighton spot that he could be cool

I love the earlier seasons with more focus on the kids. In season 5 and 6 they almost got irrelevant...

the first season had some serious tones and depth to the story. the following seasons lost all that.

Storywise, there's probably not much to tell about the kids since seasons 1 to 4, Fran already achieved what she needed to do which is to build a home for the kids. Maggie has become confident, Brighton's become humble, and Gracie's mental and emotional being have improved. So the later seasons shifted to Fran and Maxwell's life.

The rooms kept changing... It's impossible to know which rooms are next to each other. Remember that in earlier seasons there was even a teeny tiny room between the kitchen and the dining room and later it just disappeared?

Fran still hasn't learned to get dressed for breakfast. Even the little girl is dressed in a cute dress. But Fran hasn't upped her game, she's still tacky.
