I would need more watches to confirm but I'm fairly sure this is my favorite of the three as well. Also i think i disagree about this being not as tightly put together. The themes that Ti was exploring in both of the previous films getting fully realized in Maxxxine. Fame, the struggle to pursue it, and the cost. Plus, Maxine herself seems to echo Pearl in her drive to make something of herself. For all it's jokes and bigger stage, it's very much the character study that West was working through in both of the previous films.

I thought it was great. But Pearl is the best of the trilogy.

The scene using Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s Welcome to the Pleasuredome was 💯 and a nice homage to Body Double.

This was my favorite of the 3 . I really enjoyed it. I really felt a Giallo Vibe . And loved the music. It was great to see Kevin Bacon in this.

Sheena Easton would be a perfect fit, I would think. Sugar walls and my favorite Strut and I got to thank Tipper Gore for introducing me to Sheena Easton. Oh and L.A in the 70's and 80's was a totally sleazy place. California has the highest number of serial killer cases in the U.S. and L.A in the 70's and 80's had a lot of them. Richard Rimarez aka The night stalker who was active from 84-85 came to L.A. from Texas and to quote his biographer who wrote the definitive book on the case and I've read it 4 times "The day he stepped off the bus he stepped right into this world. You look left, somebody is offering you a gun. You look right, and there is a women offering you $%x. He was like a kid in a candy store." and he lived on skidrow and the many flop houses around L.A. I personally hated X. I thought it was slow and boring as hell. Didn't like any of the characters. Mia Goth was empty, lifeless. Totally uninteresting. Didn't like the plot of the movie. I wanted sleaze and didn't get it. I found X to be a painfully average slasher movie. But I've heard, even from those who like me hated X and had all the same issues with the movie say "I actually liked Pearl." So I am hesitant to watch Pearl, let alone Maxxxine....but I do feel like I should give them a chance, eventually.

I’m kinda done with retro stuff but loved this film and great to see the bates motel in there, be nuts if they do the 90’s and it’s the remake version.

Great ending to the trilogy!

I absolutely loved Maxxxine.

The comedy and the two detectives lost me with this film, when the first two had no comedy

Loved X and Pearl and Ti West other films but this one kind of left me flat. Not a terrible film, but the ending really started to creep into Hot Fuzz territory, which was a great satire but I don't think that's what MaXXXine was going for. Fairly confusing and muddled and even the 80's nostalgia didn't do much for me. 5/10 and for the love of God someone get Ti off the digital cameras and back to shooting on film.

It’s a fun movie for sure. X is the best of the trilogy. I heard Ti West may do a fourth one but I’m ready for him to tackle something new.

Nosferatu, Terrifier 3, I haven't seen In a Violent Nature or Longlegs yet.

Man,i hyped this like the 2nd coming..It comes in 3rd.. Hopefully learn and make moves the trilogy in my mind goes from an A to B+.

Only 1 multiplex theatre in my city and MaXXXIne is not playing there but Despicable Me 4 is playing on four screens for some reason

MaXXXine is almost perfect! I do think like it’s the weakest out of the three films. Doesn’t quite hit the landing, it feels a little tame & bit mainstream. As well as Uneven, too much going on in a short period of time, a big reveal where you can see it coming & an underwhelming finale, but that being said…it was still a hell of a fun time. Highly entertaining throughout. A fitting conclusion to this trilogy.

Spoiler Free Review Saw Maxxxine tonight, a decent end to the trilogy but my least favorite of the bunch. Postives: Mia Goth & Kevin Bacon knock their charcters out of the park. Music was excellent. Negatives: Predictable as to who the villian is. Ever since Stranger Things realesed, I think media & entertainment in general has been oversatured with 80's nastalgia, i've personally have had enough. Finally, it didn't and anything new to the main charcter. Anyway, I loved X & Pearl, but Maxxxine is just average, probably won't be revisting this one at all, but glad I saw it once to wrap it up.

Poking my head into brag that I am still the only reviewer to mention Ratt’s “I’m insane“ being used in this movie. The deepest of deep Ratt cuts. I swear to God I thought you were going to mention it when you said Betty Davis eyes.

Cheaply done movie. Kevin bacon’s acting was cheesy. Maxine is beautiful though.

What is a “cookie cutter” hit of the 80’s? I grew up in the 80’s and the hits are all very well represented in movies, I think. Do you mean overplayed? Sure they all can’t be Vienna by Ultravox, but nostalgia is about what people remember not hidden tracks nobody knew then.

I am unable to see this until it hits on demand but from what it sounds to me is this is another Halloween Ends (let me explain my self) You watch Halloween/Kills both films are semi connected but then Halloween Ends just does not match up with the first 2 films. I guess that's okay for this film. I have to wait to watch it but it still will be worth it

X was the best of this trilogy. Pearl was a bit boring and i never got that into it. i dont know if I'll go see it.

I was not a fan. It felt like a waste of time to me.
