Tornado warned high-precipitation supercell that traveled down the Illinois/Indiana border on Thursday, May 16th 2019 Andrew Pritchard | Skydrama.Photography | @skydrama
My grandfather lived at Chrisman, IL, straight west of Dana. I'll never forget when visiting him from college trying to get to his home from the south as a storm like this was dropping down from the north, with lightning seemingly every second.
Clinton, IN is my home town. I was thankful it passed. My son and I were stuck in the little league baseball concession stand with about 25 other kids and adults. Very scary, but exciting!!
I was in it I think, I live in Waterloo il, and it happened at like 6:45 pm and the warning lasted like 3 hrs of boredness on my phone hoping not to die
When I heard a siren at school during recess I Screemed for my life, it was a severe thunderstorm It was like my birthday when a supercell came to my 9th birthday Sooooo scary tornado are caused by warm air rises with cold air witch Creates a supercell for a tornado and the sky was green but kids still had fun Tornado sirens warn you that the fact a severe thunderstorm that possible tornados could happen and could be unsafe
I saw this on the radar yesterday, at one point in the approach to Chicago, it was the second most active storm (for lightning) on the entire planet! My fiancée in Chicago said it was quite some storm. Meanwhile, me here in the UK, had a bit of drizzle :(
I chased the same storm and also got hailed on in Clinton and saw that rolled-over vehicle at the end. What do you think that funnel-looking thing was, if not a tornado?
I've been doing exactly what he's doing for over 50 years now (I invented tornado chasing). A storm like this making a "right turn" as it did, especially in that environment would've likely generated an good F2 at least, 50-60 years ago. Just can't seem to get any good tornadoes going anymore, though. Solar minimum? Nice shots of that supercell. I was thinking Terre Haute area was gonna get it.
Joe Kaye There is the bestest chance your lying. I have been studying Tornadoes all my life and never heard of a Joe Kaye I feel like you would also get a tons of likes and replies. Don’t say you invented something when you didn’t.
by this video, I was started to think he is not experienced chaser and was on the wrong side of the storm. Logic says stay out of it's path. But it seems he ran to the storm.
@@mmartin1842In 1966 we had automobiles, interstates, and tornado warnings (issued for specific localities) on TV and radio. That's all you need if you know what you're looking for.
I was getting ready to go to kansas city for something for my mom and it hit 12:30 during a school day. recess had just started and then boom! siren. every kid went inside like ants. I was worried for my friends. my family ran to the basement but its kinda creepy because trains would go everytime we had a tornado. I'm a bit happier I live in the South but sad because I can't see my friends
We had a tornado warning down in Terre Haute. There was apparently a funnel reported near Fairview Park. May've been that at 7:16. Also, love the shot at 5:00!
Nice shots. Good video and kinda funny. You are super cute. Be careful out there. You need someone to ride along. One to watch the storm and one to watch the road.
It was a siren tht day 2 times in Lansing Illinois..it really looked creepy and scarey out there..the sky looked black..all tht rain..and wind..it was so windy last night 6-14-2019 our power went out
At 4:57 if you look at the cloud, it looks like the face of a panther or dragon - the eyes and nostrils. Not one for finding shapes in clouds but this stood out. Neat!
Who was the idiot that coined the term "tornado warned?" When did "This storm has had a tornado warning issued" change to "This storm is tornado warned"? "Tornado warned" is an idiotic phrase, and it sets my teeth on fire every time I hear a meteorologist or storm chaser use it.
WHEN ARE PEOPLE GOING TO LEARN WHEN MAKING A VIDEO SHUT UP UR WINDOWS TURN ON UR A/C SPEAK UP LIKE U'V GOT A PAIR SO U CAN BE HEARD OVER THE ROAD NOISE. PUSSY.
@@AndrewPritchard Never doubted it for a moment. Obviously it's more important to show you than the subject by the amount of screen time used up needlessly - clicked in to see tornado-not you
