I ordered both Cymbeline books to read aloud to my grandchildren and they are due to arrive today! Yay! I'm currently reading through George MacDonald's works in Cullen Collection order (but substituting the David Jack side by sides, as available) - along with Michael Philllips A Writer's Life to preface each book. It's an extraordinary journey.

Your hair is perfect for headbands and jewel clips on the side! The colonial books look like fun reads! I tend to read Colonial era books and historical fiction in the summer because my family used to visit Colonial Williamsburg every summer growing up.

This was such a delight, thank you! The abbess in the Chanel book makes me think of Rosalind Russell's character in the old Hayley Mills movie The Trouble with Angels. She too found something better.

I have Miss Dior on my TBR. It is about Christian Dior’s sister, Catherine, who was resistance fighter, concentration camp survivor, and cultivated rose gardens. The book came with wonderful photographs. I am looking forward to this book.

I really need to add Manalive to my TBR because I've heard such great things about it! A Little Maid of Old Philadelphia sounds so sweet too, and since I lived in Philadelphia when I was little myself I think I'll have to check it out.

'The Rosary' by Florence Louisa Barclay is available as a free digital edition (as per the Summer Reading Plans chat). I'm going to start reading that.
