Welcome to the Bookish Kingdom! ✨ I’m so glad you stopped by. 😄 This channel is my hobby - I love to create and share the fun of my vacations, as well as my favorite books, fashions, crafts, and other adventures. The places and products I mention in my videos are all things I genuinely love and want to share my honest thoughts about. 😊 I think of my videos like a scrapbook - when I’m on a vacation I film as much as possible and then a few weeks or months later, I’ll try to get around to editing and sharing here.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, my content is not associated with, sponsored, endorsed by, or produced in partnership with any of the brands or companies I may be talking about. My channel is in no way associated with or endorsed by the Walt Disney Company. I'm just a fan who loves to share the magic. ✨

I just found your video's I'm sorry so late to ask questions, but I hope it's ok. In the title it say's (in Everyday Modern Life). Does that mean that you live this way always? And you also keep saying (Regency)? So does this refer to a time period? Also Regency Ear starter kit? I have always enjoyed Jane Austen but this is the first time coming across anything like this. I really enjoyed your video and would love to learn so much more Thank you and would love anything you can information or suggestions 🤗

I first came across Goudge [around 25 years ago] when on my way [as a young man, I was around 25 then] to a Benedictine Monastery near Bedford, England for a regular two week retreat. There was a little time in Bedford to wait for the bus to the monastery gate, so i popped into a local charity shop thinking id want some book during my stay to read, something other that Christian doctrines. Id never heard of her but picked up a blue covered book called 'The White Witch', i didnt even check what it was about, i just liked the cover. When i finally started reading it after settling into my retreat, I was overjoyed it was set during the first English Civil War, as i had been a reenactor in the past, being a member of both The Kings Army & The Sealed Knot. Ive just been on eBay a few minutes ago and came across The White Witch again while looking at bookstands, and while i fell short of buying it, it did bring warm memories of that time flooding back, and though i no longer remember the story in detail i do remember it was absorbing which meant she had talent. Ill be honest i havent read any other book that Goudge has written. Peter :)

I read one of her gothic tales that she wrote under A.M. Barnard?! and it was ok! 😬😂It reminded me of the stories Jo sheepishly wrote for the newspaper. 😅

I like your thought about the LMA short story with the flowers and the frost. You are right that a little frost is a good thing! And I agree that The Inheritance could have used a little. 😆😆

What a storm! Alcott’s sensational stories are not my cup of tea either. I do love Eight Cousins (the Aunt Hill🤗) and An Old Fashioned Girl besides Little Women & Little Men. The allusion to wild apples versus grafted ones in “Regress” took me back to reading Thoreau for Alcott April. He made some similar observations! I enjoy much of Peterson in his podcasts/ conversations. Beautiful vlog 💕 Thank you for sharing the beauty with those of us wishing we had a “bit of earth” to plant and nurture 💕

Jesus of Nazareth is a Trilogy. My favorite is book 2 (which focuses on Holy Week). I tend to reread the trilogy every few years. I have been wanting to read “Love and Responsibility” by JPII. Also, looks like I should look into reading Pilgrim’s Regress. Thank you for the wrap up and happy reading.

I was hesitant to subscribe at first because of what I have experienced with other channels that preach about politics. I am not American btw. I had a long reading slump because I've been busy making a living for my family. During the pandemic, I seemed to have more free time and I thought, "I've always loved reading. I should look for channels about books and reading." Then I was surprised at RU-vidrs who had echoing views on politics. My country has its own problems so I'm so sorry if I seemed detached from American politics but I just felt odd when I saw a lot of female RU-vidrs who seemed to inject their own politics about some books written years ago and started using similar words. I won't go into details about them because I would usually click off when hearing such words. Don't get me wrong, I came in very open-minded and neutral at first and I actually took some of their recommendations. And here, I would like to say THANK YOU to them for recommending modern writers like CH, TJR, AJ, MZ, BOL, DA and many more (yes, I'm using initials for semi-anonymity? haha). Yes, thank you for recommending these writers. I read one or two of each writer's works. I'm truly grateful because I was pushed to go back to my beloved classics. I started reading classics in my teens and it was not because I was forced by my teachers (not all the time anyway). Then I branched out to modern writers in the early 2000s (mostly those who won prizes) but I would always find myself returning to the classics. From 2020 until last year, after giving many modern books a try, I just realized that I did not miss out much by NOT reading most of them. This was a lovely video and I appreciate your candour in discussing many of these classics. I've also made a list of the ones I'd like to read.
