Your post-holiday (Memorial Day) fishing report for the New Jersey, Delaware Bay region comes in pieces while experiencing the joys of modern day travel en route from Newark to Key West (and hopefully back again at some point). We kick off this week's video fishing forecast in delay number one with a look at weekend fluking in the back bays, with cod and sea bass on the inshore wrecks. Weakfish reports (5:55) are on the uptick at the Jersey Shore with shedder crab a good bet for a tiderunner; the first reported sheepshead (7:40) in South Jersey could have folks looking for fresh new crab baits. There's still a good run of striped bass (8:50) in the region with a big tournament coming up this weekend and some trophy catch and release tips with Chuck Many on Open Boat (12:10). Finally we take our seat (14:25) just in time for a nice, long rest on the runway with a report from the Poconos, and eventually, by the grace of God (16:32) we reach our destination in the Florida Keys this week with a Dream Boat and "CKC" status check. Wrap up the week back at the hotel with a New Jersey, Delaware tuna report (19:53), a look at the weekend events (23:15) for June 1-2, and a 4-minute rant on the latest industrial offshore wind news (25:10) in the Garden State. Oh, by the way, the very first reported double-digit doormat fluke of the 2024 season was checked in this week (29:18); congrats to Skip Lerman for a personal best 11-pound fluke caught aboard Capt. Frank's "Vitamin Sea" on the Raritan Bay on Wednesday. Yes sir, while the cat's away the doormats will play!
