More charity unboxing of items bound for raising money for The Befriending Scheme. This time from the amazing Colin (AKA Colcuz) who sent over two boxes of brilliant Commodore themed items!
I have already reached out to the seller of the C64C case and requested an exchange. I will let you know how that goes!

That VIC-20 has the "PET-style keyboard". Very rare and should be called out in the auction. Very nice!

The family's A500 came with an introduction disk, teaching you how to use a mouse etc. Anybody remember that disk? I must have been 9 or 10. It was magical.

Ive had a reply back. Its actually normal. These were taken from the original moulds and never meant to be transparent so the inside is a bit rough.

I had a cassette deck like that with my C64 back in the day (it was a refurb). Mine also had that fairly bare looking connector on the end, like yours does. I guess that's just how they came?

Never owned a Commodore machine but am going to the Kickstart Expo (its local, be rude not to!) so fully expect my appetite to be 'wetted' by the time the charity auctions are up.

Yup, the scratches are on all of the clear cases that I've seen. I think it's due to the molds used. Still, very cool!!

It is. The moulds weren't exactly in pristine condition, when they were found...

The clear C64c case marks arent a negative if they were formed on original moulds, its all part of the story.

@@morefunmakingit2 Definitely something that's missing in todays world - a damn good manual which explains everything. Unlike the "pidgin English" style sheets of uselessness you get these days

The scratches are reason enough to get a new non-scratched case through warranty. It's only going to get more noticeable if something get into the scratches.

The seller replied and explained this is actually expected. The cases are taken using the original moulds and never expected to be transparent.

@@morefunmakingit2Do they have that stated on the product's page though? If not then I would still ask for a refund, because that's not the product you'd expect. Might as well get it resin printed in that case, at least then you know it'll not have those defects and it would be cheaper.

@@morefunmakingit2 Yes, I have a black case that has a very apparent mark in exactly the same place (so I think it's somewhat disingenuous of the seller to blame just the transparent plastic), however, these are binding marks from the original moulds and whilst disappointing, quite normal. The product page specifically says: "We would like to emphasize that the imperfections are not a sign of bad production quality, but of the genuine toolings that are now 35 years old".
