One of my favourite parts of KS02 was speaking to Lee, hearing about the displayed and ongoing projects and then upcoming charity auction was great and he's a really interesting chap, which is why the videos are so good!
Ah the good old DKTronics keyboard for the Speccy , had one back when they first came out , a really good keyboard ( better than any of the official ones for 48K/48k+ by a long way )
It was nice to get to meet up again with you at kickstart, I missed all the talks too. I totally forget to film anything however so you where more organised than me
6:46 I got this exact data recorder, it came with an Elk I bought a few months back, I think the belts are gone on mine! Will you do a video on the restoration of your recorder or is that not exciting content? ;)
@@paszTube designed for computers, and during an era where tape mechanisms are made to a high standard. There are not many good tape mechanisms nowadays.
It might one day make a video. It certainly deserves it, marvellous machine. But my current plans are a bit busy so its likely going to be next year some time!

You might want to open up that Power Computing floppy drive, there's a possibility that it's an XL Amiga which can handle high density disks. If it is, the PCB will have POWER COMPUTING HIGH DENSITY FLOPPY etched on it in between a PLCC and a crystal.

Glad you enjoyed the Atari table 😁 On a similar note, I tried to buy the Commodore Story book after a few people recommended it to me and the author Steven Fletcher was familiar with my channel and very insistent that I take one for free. Was going to mention it in my own video but it's buried in one of my many boxes! I'm very keen to find it and give it a read.
I got my first old computer in 2017, it was an Electron and I used it quite a bit until one power up, when it gave me a screen full of errors "file not found" and other messages? Strange I thought, any power up since gives a white screen. I tested ROM, RAM and CPU, all good. So it would seem that the ULA had died and I've got an unloved stored away Electron ever since. What great news this is :) I've seen the other projects, but with little info, complicated builds and pricey parts I left them alone. This (although the build may not be the easiest) is a huge ray of hope for my system. A huge thank you to Chris for all the time and effort that he's put into bringing this to fruition (what an achievement, ey?) and thanks to you too for letting us all know about it. Oooh, I'm looking forward to playing around with my Elk once more :)

The Amiga 500+ have 1 MB of chip ram (so do the 600 and 1200 if i remember it correctly), but some games won't play even if you upgrade it to 2 MB and that is because some games need fast ram.
The 1200 has 2MB Chip. If you're talking about some old games not working because of ram, lets say on an A1200. Some cases were because you needed "slow" ram which is for example trap door memory on an A500. So an A500 has slow ram in the trap door. A500+ has chip ram in the trap door. A1200 has fast ram in the trap door. Both the A500 and A500+ have fast ram on the left side expansion. But if you're talking later released games after the fall of commodore then yeah some would need fast ram for an A1200 or if you wanted to use WHDLoad for your games.
Some amazing stuff there, very cool. I like the sound of the more free flow guests format for the stream, I think that should work well and give it a bit of a party vibe 😊

Feels that way! No. But as I'm starting gear up for a massive charity event I've had a huge amount of donations that have to be shown somewhere. This is my second channel where I feel its ok to do this kind of thing without upsetting anyone.
Lee, I have a total of 3 Amiga 1200s. I'm pretty sure they've all be tweaked over the years but I'll have the original ROMs somewhere if that's what you need? Where would one of them need to get to?
I used radial caps when I recapped my speccies, worried about shorting too, so on one board I put heat shrink tubes on the legs that were close to/above those traces that don’t have solder mask (all of them on speccies I think?)! Radials look nicer though, especially blue ones ;).
We both need to thank @ReEnthused for sending the Atari to me while I was working on the Acid Atari videos and I am happy to pass them on. The 800xl does work so it's just the keyboard to fix and the 65XE keyboard works, but I split the membrane when making those keyboard adapter PCB.

You could cover the PET with a MiniPET. The 8-Bit Guy even had a video where he case mods a modern C64c case to fit a custom keyboard he and Kevin from TexElec made for it. - And I don't believe I have seen a Commodore 128 yet which was the machine I grew up with. That would have been nice to see. :) Still, this looks like it is going to be an excellent chairty auction. Well done!
