My regular viewers know that my computer died on me some weeks ago. I now have it up and running again but there's a lot to catch up on. Days 3 and 4 of my visit to the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway were published some time ago - day 1 was unfinished and locked into the dead PC - here it is at last.
For those who haven't seen them, the other days can be found at -
day 3 • May Half-Term on La'al...
day 4 • May Half-Term La'al Ra...
day 2 - rained off!
The weather is frequently unkind to us in the Lake District - we simply make the best of it! Enjoy.

Another good day's filming Tim and glad weather was ok for you. Good to see a bird's eye view at Ravenglass.👍👍

Thanks David. I wonder what the birds think of the weather in that part of the world!

Very good video even though the weather wasn’t very good at least it was sunny when you were back at the station

Thank you Fraser. The weather is the one thing you can never rely on in the Lake District. Of my four days down there, only the last day enjoyed good weather enabling me to walk and film. I'd booked all my tickets a month in advance and didn't book seats in open coaches for that very reason.

You’re welcome I am meant to be going to Crieff area off Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 in September but not sure if it’s worth going for two weeks or just one reason being the weather

Good to see you finally got your PC working and catch up on some editing. A nice day at the end so not a total washout like the other one was

Thanks Colin. It's good to get back to working with equipment and software that really can handle the material - I'll have to reset my camera and the drone to the highest settings that they're capable of achieving. They had to be set to lower, older standards during the time I was confined to the laptop. Sadly, a certain amount of material has been lost - my backup routine wasn't as good as I thought it was. A lesson to be learnt there.

@@schoolshorts Hopefully nothing really rare was lost and you have got a better backup routine now so that's good. Future videos back to high standard again in time for the next charter train. Hoping for a fine day in York tomorrow with a Peak due in on it's first charter train

Also the Isle of Man is the only place in the uk that still has steam trains going right the way round the island everything is either steam trains or electric trams and it’s quite interesting to watch

Yes - I know the Manx railways quite well although I haven't filmed there since 2008 (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FNTTdYf22nE.html). I'm not familiar with the Scottish lines you mention - I'll have to look them up.

The other one in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 is at Aviemore there’s a always a few interesting trains up there including steam trains and class 37S they are very small the other and only open over the summer

The railway line in comrie goes over the river earn it’s a very wide river and not very fast but the railway bridge sits really high up and you get a good view of the track and the river Tim

You know there used to be small scale railway line round the park in Inverness and the same in comrie not sure if either of them are still working but with the one in comrie it was the owners of the house and the land that had railway and it was a very long railway line again similar size trains to what to your video was today and again you can walk round the grounds no problem it’s normally open the first two weeks In July for a holiday called comrie fortnight it’s on for two weeks
